If you haven't been here, or been back for a while, then its well worth another visit. Yew Tree Barn has raised the plate, there's an even better selection of artefacts, beautifully resored furniture, architecture, crafts, jewellery etc, a great gift shop and there's even a blacksmith! The team are very knoweldgable, professional, and their attention to detail and service... More

My wife had read about this place so we decided to stop there when we were passing on the way home from Ulverston. It's basically a reclamation yard with a cafe. The reclamation yard is very interesting and could keep you wandering around for a long time looking at all the artefacts. The cafe is also very good. We both... More

Thank you for writing a review, and we're pleased that you enjoyed your lunch, the home made lasagne is a always a favourite. The reclamation area certainly does keep people engrossed; along with the galleries and artisans there is a lot to enjoy at Yew Tree Barn! Hope to see you again. More

What an Aladdin's Cave! Full of interesting artefacts and local crafts. We watched the blacksmith at his forge making an elaborate hook, my husband was in his element. He was so friendly and informative, I'm sure my husband would have stayed all day if I let him. Will certainly visit again next time we're in The Lakes.

Every time we visit the lakes we make time to spend an afternoon exploring this Aladins cave of local crafts and reclaimed items you will not find anywhere else to my knowledge. If you are looking for a tiny garden ornament or a 20ft fountain for your garden you will find it in the yard. Go inside the barn for... More

I have always made an effort to stop here when I am going through Cumbria. The place is filled with unique and affordable items - it is the perfect blend of local crafts, antique and reclaimed archtectural elements. The cafe is superb and always worth a stop for coffee, soup and welsh rarebit. A lovely treat in the countryside!

An excellent place to visit, explore and experience. Yew Tree Barn has either changed ownership since the last time I visited or it has been given a complete make-over. What a difference!. It was lovely to see the unique gifts and superb craftmanship of the hand-made jewellery. Plenty of ideas for Christmas gifts there! As the weather was poor, we... More

Thank you very much for your review. Yew Tree Barn is still run by the founders of the core business WRS Ltd, (the reclamation section) but over the years we have developed and diversified so that we offer a great selection of arts, crafts, gifts etc in our galleries. We're really pleased when visitors tell us they like the improvements... More

Living pretty near to this Aladdin's Cave, it has been a fascinating place to visit over the years. Unfortunately as Anno Domini catches up with me I find it more of an effort to entertain my old friends to lunch! But the answer is there in HARRY'S BAR! We can usually park easily and meet by the log fire at... More

Spotted the Yew Tree Barn in a magazine somewhere. Read the reviews on Trip Advisor and thought it may be a good day out as this sort of thing is of interest to my wife and myself. We were both disappointed in the place. In the cafe the very slow service, combined with rather high prices(£6 for soup) made for... More

We were very surprised and disappointed to read your review. To address your specific concerns; firstly, apologies for the slow service in the cafe. I can only assume you were there on a very busy day, our food is all prepared freshly and there can sometimes be a wait. However our staff take customer service very seriously and should have... Lovely place, spent loads of time browsing and brought some cute bits, it was a little pricey though. The cafe was excellent, homemade lasagne was great and the cakes which were also homemade, were really good.

I first visited Harry's Cafe at Yew Tree Barn a few weeks ago and have to say I've become addicted to their bacon baps and salted caramel latté... not to mention the fantastic ironmongery and reclamation treasures to browse through after the heavenly bacon bap. Slow service isn't something I've experienced but hey, the hot food and sandwiches are all... More
