Headlands is set in great proximity to wonderfully quaint, small towns, so if the itch of venturing off the beach for food or other leisure activities itches, you are in luck! The beach rather large and alive with wildlife-scattered with dunes and other preserved areas. The park is wonderful for either a day's adventure into the unknown of their multiple... More

Beautiful park but if pets are aloud in, why not on the beach. They will do the same things on beach as they would on path.

This is a huge fine sand beach with all the amenities in season. It also harbors a wildlife refuge between the beach and the breakwall. It has plenty of parking and easy access from a big highway. It's like a freeway goes right to the entrance.

This is a huge beach with crashing waves only an hour from home! I go here by myself, with friends or with my grandchildren and have always had a wonderful time! Wear... More

Beautiful park on Lake Erie's "ocean front" coastline! The mile long beach provides ample space for all visitors even on a busy summer day. Plenty of parking and restrooms are provided and there is a shaded playground and grilling areas. A walking path between the parking lot and beach is well used. The beach is very deep from the path... More

Plenty to do, concession stand with great food, windsurf, kayak & paddle board rentals. Water and sand are clean. You can hike to the lighthouse (kinda Rocky) but a good time!!

Every year in July, the city of Mentor has an awesome beach party called BeachFest. There are renowned sand sculptors who compete, there is sand castle building for families, kites, water activities, kayaking lessons, vendors and food. It's a blast for the kids! This year there were over 8,000 people who attended throughout the day and the best part... it's... More

We took the stroll to the light house. Which was very nice. Swimming was great with less of great waves.
