If you want a walk on the beach and can't travel to the ocean...... the North Coast is a great substitute. We visited and walked the beach - listen to the waves and the gulls and took a mini-vacation for the evening. Amazing that this is only 5 miles from "city life".

So beautiful there. Large sand beach with driftwood and seagulls, a lighthouse, dunes, trees and picnic areas, walking/biking paths. Although water quality varies, most of the times I've been there over the last 9 years, it has been beautiful and safe. I don't swim, but for families that do, please heed the signs regarding water quality as there can be... More

The beach and sand was beautiful and the water inviting .. But as you enter the park the huge red sign advising of the dangerous levels of bacteria in the water was enough to turn me away. Lots of open parking, but then again .. Who would be brave enough to battle the pollution. Prequel isle in erie pa is... More

Beach is clean, guarded, and provides a nice escape. It has a lot of sand for a Lake Erie beach, and is neighbored by the state park.

This is a big beach with plenty of room for volleyball, playing Frisbee or enjoying the sun. Lots of parking and bathrooms nearby. An evening walk is safe and relaxing.

This beach is so large, I can't imagine it filling up. Nice, soft sand and lots of areas to walk. Very clean also.

Nice view of Lake Erie....from the car park. Notices banning me from taking the dog onto the beach even if leashed. As a responsible dog owner who cleans up after his dog I was upset that we were not welcome on the beach or on the lakefront.

Every time I come to the beach I feel like I am on vacation rather than ten minutes from my house! How lucky we are to have Lake Erie and beachfront access right in our backyard. I especially like the paved walking trail that lines the beach. It is safe alternative to running/walking on busy streets. Headlands has so much... More

It's a great beach. Very big, plenary of room to soak up some rays. I do wish they would allow vendors there and really give it a 'fair feel'. Also would be great if they had designated areas for people to be able to have fires on the beach. But those two things aside, it's a great place to spend... More
