Probably the best beach in Northeast Ohio. When the lake gets warm (august) the beach really gets a lot of action.

I live on the western end beach after the public beach stops. Love the views year round and in all weather. Some of the best sunsets you will ever see. Often people ask where we have been vacationing when they see our beach pictures. Finding sea glass along the water's edge is a favorite past time and filling a glass... More

This is an immense beach with tons of parking, picnic tables, a food vendor during the day, trails, benches, walking path, shady spots, water sports rentals, and restrooms. Any day spring, fall, or winter is gorgeous and peaceful. Many times I am there with only 4-5 other cars parked far away. Summer weekends and especially holidays are not as pleasant... More

I come to the Cleveland area all the time and I have never stopped by the park. Its absolutely huge!. Parking for miles and lots of picnic tables. The beach is like a mile long We went in the fall so we took one of the many trails that lead to the lighthouse as a hike. Great afternoon!

Mentor Headlands is a very large beach. The water is not too deep and there are sandbars fairly far out. It has a place to rent water skis. There are life guards on duty all down the beach. they have volleyball nets at intervals down the beach. There is a commissary that has hot dogs and snack foods. Showers and... More

Twenty years in Mentor and I am watching this beach get dirtier and more crowded as the years go on. The amount of feminine hygiene products we see stuck in the sand is disgusting, the bathrooms are always nasty, and we decided to start going solely to Fairport beach once we found a whole rotted big near where to boats... Nicest beach in Ohio, by far. Not very well known, either. Tons of parking. The only problem, as I see it, is that speedboats are allowed to come in very close to shore, which discourages swimming out much more than 30 or so feet. Personally, I get nervous with large speeding boats around where I am swimming. Also, a good... More

We walked the beach. It was cold but our daughter never saw lake Erie before. She loved picking up rocks and driftwood.

Long, long, long beach, with room to play and stroll...nice picnic areas and facilities. Hadn't been to Lake Erie for years...it has bounced back in a wonderful way.
