My wife, son, and I stopped by the preserve the morning after visiting Cedar Point. We were looking forward to the nice 1-mile hike to the beach area. Once we arrived at the beach we witnessed black waves and a nasty stench. No idea what is in the water there but it isn't healthy. My biggest complaint about the park... More

We enjoyed the walk to Lake Erie on the Old Cedar Point Road, through wetlands and forests. Plenty of wildlife to see, and Lake Erie is always a welcome sight.

This a nice place for a walk. It is a paved path through marshland to the beach about a mile long. You may see some wildlife which is nice. The beach on one side is privately owned but the other side is available to walk along (unless endangered birds are nesting nearby). No Dogs or bikes allowed.

Many birds, animals and plants to see along the path. It was a little overgrown in spots but, overall a great place to enjoy nature.

The butterflies and flowers were spectacular! Not too long of a walk, the perfect distance, about 25 minutes until you hear the crashing waves and end up on a beautiful beach!

I’d been to the area several times before to visit Cedar Point, but this was the first time I’d set some time aside for birding. One of the friends I was with had likely never been birding while the other dabbles in it less occasionally than I do. It can be difficult to find good directions online for some birding... More

My family visits Vermilion/Huron every spring and we look forward to taking this short walk through the woods and marsh. There is a side trail that takes you through the forest and when we went all the mayapples and daffodils were in bloom. Violets bloomed on either side of the walkway and the forsythia and magnolias were also in bloom.... More

I think we missed most of the migrating birds. The area was very clean and safe. No restrooms available.

This small wetland reserve is nestled on the lake and offers nice opportunity to do bird watching - but also is a great place to just grab some nature. It's structured with a roughly 1 mile paved walk having wetlands with a few viewing decks; at the waterfront itself there is access to two (non recreational) shore beach areas. Worth... More
