This is a great opportunity to get an African Savannah experience only 30Km from Melbourne. The open sided busses allow for a real safari feel and if you are lucky a giraffe or ostrich may actually peer inside to vehicle to get a close up of us humans. And don't forget the pula trail walk where additional animals can be... More

We enjoyed our visit: the only disappointment was that the bistro was closed but it saved us some money. This was our second visit since 2009 and I was very impressed with the new safari buses - it was just a shame that we couldn't hear the guide properly and that certain other travellers didn't obey her instructions regarding sitting... We took the kids here recently, they loved the safari bus. Well organised and great day out. Just disappointed that the playground was closed for renovations

We loved the place, as did our three year old. This is an incredibly nice little gem in Melbourne. You can spend the good part of a day here - we spent almost four hours here, and could have spent longer if there were more animals. It gets 4/5 only because the ticket price wasn't cheap but the number of... More

Went to the zoo on the weekend. Went on the small bus tour and then we had an up close and personal with the Gorillas. It was the most amazing experience one could imagine. The staff at the Zoo were great after a very small hiccup, they made up for it more than you could imagine. Thank you all very much to... More

They had a couple huge lions and a new born hippo, but their overall diversity of animals was not extensive. The herd of giraffes we drove through was pretty cool, but our driver on the ride through the open range portion was sharing what we felt was propaganda through the entire ride. It kind of ruined the experience for us.... More

We went with family and kids from 1 to 17. We had a ball, the bus was a big thumbs up. Learning about the animals was very interesting. My boys loved it, they had so much that they were in bed early :) gift shop was okay but somethings were a bit overpriced but we got something that my boys... More

Took the shuttle from Melbourne CBD to the Zoo, easy and quick way to get there and back without the hassle of driving/hiring a car. As i traveled without little kids, we did the off road tour this gets you up nice and close with the animals. There is another vehicle that is aimed at kids which you see the... More

We have been here 3 times this year so far as it is a great zoo for small children. While the food is pricy the animals, staff and atmosphere does not dissappoint.

This zoo is surprisingly amazing. My son (3yo) like the safari so much. We also can see the animal closely, especially the kangaroo. The park is very clean, the staff also nice and the animal look happy. But unfortunately when we go there the gorilla had been moved due to cold weather.
