A fantastic days outing for the whole family. You aboard a safari 4 carriage bus with open windows and that takes you right up to zebras, giraffes, rhinos and other wildlife. You go past African huts just like they live in Africa in and then the safari finishes and you can go look at all the other animals. There is... More

upon arriving at the zoo the family had to take a quick trip to the loos before we started our adventure. Have to say that the toilet facilities here are exceptional. Clean, modern and fresh. A real experience in itself considering the toilet facilities of other places. Anyway - we started the day by doing a full walk through of... More

We became zoo members and even though I had not yet received my membership card they were happy to look me up in the system and provide me with a temporary card to gain VIP access to the zoo. I highly recommend to became a zoo member as this gave as VIP access to the zoo and no waiting in... More

Have been to the zoo on a weekday - so was a bit spoilt in the past (no one much around!) On a Sunday it is busy, but not overly - just means you can't be guaranteed a seat next to the Mercat window in the Bistro. Good parking, good lunch in the Bistro. Travelled with an elderly relative, and... More

The location of the Zoo is outside Melbourne in Werrebie. I believe that is very poorly signaled where the Zoo is and is quite difficult to exit from Princess Freeway. Its easier if you use a GPS to find your way there. The Zoo is located next to Victoria Rose State Garden which a place that should not be missed... More

Safari truck amongst animals was a great way to get up close with the animals. Also more affordable than other zoos we have been too.

I was SO looking forward to seeing this place but unfortunately, due to the hot-ish (mid 20's) weather, most of the creatures in the zoo were hiding. We did see some monkeys, some chooks (who weren't actually part of the zoo) two lioness, (I think) a wild dog's leg and half a hippo's bum. Oh, there was a tortoise cruising... More

We absolutely love Werribee Zoo, for really little people (under5) we have found better than Melbourne Zoo - easy to see animals, lots of lively picnic areas, lovely ride on bus to get a good look around. Highly recommend

The Werribee Zoo was fantastic. Went on the bus where we got close up to camels, giraffes, zebras and rhinos. Afterwards got to walk around and three hippos were just lying out on the sand - lions very close (through glass) - fantastic. The zoo is very well laid out and easy to get around. It has been done in... More

What an awesome experience!! Last night my husband and I stayed over night at the zoo for the Slumber Safari, we would highly recommend this adventure. Our hosts Amy and John could not do enough for the group, we had a private tour on arrival and got to go up and close with a Rhino, fantastic!! We had a great... More
