Kids with me were 3 and 5 so most of my day revolved around herding cats. They didn't actually care much for the safari (which we lined up for half an hour to see), or the animals really, it was very much about the play grounds, bridges and adventure equipment. The food was very expensive for what it was (kids... More

Just home from a terrific day out at Werribee Zoo and already talking about when we should go back. We took our 3 kids (5 and under) courtesy of Zoos Victoria having won a great autumn prize pack. This was our first visit but not our last. The safari bus was easy and entertaining, thanks to 'kai the safari guy'... More

Short drive from Melbourne and easy to find. Lots of walks to view the animals and ideal for families. Picnic areas African themed with African music and animal noises all make this zoo interesting. Whether you take the adult or children's bus (four carriages long) a magical tour unfolds, seeing grazing animals up close, is captivating. A place you can... More

A fantastic day out, informative tours and things for the kids to participate in. Love the huts and the way it's laid out. Great to see such beautiful animals to learn about from Africa, they also have dancing. Take your own lunch or you can buy something there. I loved the Cheetah my son the giraffe. A great day out.

Went here with my daughter and it was fantastic. The bus tour was an awesome experience and a great way to close to the animals. Fantastic enclosures for the animals.

The Zoo Victoria membership is really worth it, as mmebers get free acces to the 3 zoos all year round. First time went to Werribee and the familiy enjoyed it. The safari trip wasnt the best we've had, but still good variety of wild animals. The zoo was well laid out with nice walking paths and African cottages for kids to... More

First of all don't be put off by the fact that this is out of Melbourne, it is super easy to get to by train, and takes around 45 minutes from Flinders Street. We had decided to do the two hour safari option, where you go off road, but rather obscurely when we arrived the lady on the front counter... More

Expensive. Small and boring. They had the most common animals on display. It's that small you don't need a whole day. Won't be coming back, was disappointed.
