We spent the day at the zoo, and for someone who's not a big animal person, that day something. My son, 2, loved it, and the layout is fantastic. The 30 min Safari is excellent, and we were literally 2 metres from giraffes and rhinos. A must do!

The animals are all well looked after and the grounds are kept nice & clean. It is obvious that the staff enjoy their duties as they are all so helpful & are so "in touch" with all the animals. The whole park gives you a "FEEL GOOD" type of vibe & the owners/managers must feel very proud of this. We... More

My toddler had a wonderful morning here recently, sitting in the front seat of an old car listening to music, with a lion sitting on the bonnet of the car! It's really well laid out, and the animals are not difficult to spot. She also loved watching the hippos, and refused to leave the gorillas! We have previously taken the... More

We were lucky enough to be given a gift of a "cat encounter" with the Serval's at Werribee Zoo. It was truly magnificent and we loved every second of it. We were so impressed with Paul who is the keeper/carer of these beautiful cats. It's easy to see the admiration, fondness and respect that Paul has for these creatures. His... More

It was a beautiful autumn when we visited the Werribee Zoo. Had a fantastic time there with all its beauty and awesome sightseeing. To top off our visit, there was a volunteer (I thought this was a great way to let the younger generations learn to give back to the society), who spent time with us and explaining to us... More

Great tours, lovely food and atmosphere. Gorilla enclosure was a bit sticky if you were down wind but the rest was brilliant.

We had a great time visiting the zoo today, a really lovely day out for all ages with very active animals. The staff were very helpful and the layout was very interactive. The only complaint was the volume on the safari tour bus was really really loud it made viewing the animals quite unpleasant.

As a work team building exercise we booked the Gorilla mission and Slumber package. This was a team exercise after lunch based on The Amazing Race with a save the Gorilla message. This was lots of fun. After that we went to the tent bungalows where we stayed the night. The bungalows were excellent with comfortable beds with electric blankets... More

If you're in Melbourne for more than a few days, do consider a visit to the Werribee Open Range Zoo. It is an easy trip by train to Werribee from Southern Cross station, and from Werribee it is a 15 minute bus ride to the zoo. The bus drops you right at the front door. Small exhibit of Australian animals... More
