Being winter and off season, there was only one staff member on duty, but she was wonderful! Great advice and information from her. She recommended "The Ship That Never Was" and we were glad she did because we loved it! Lots of information pamphlets here and some great souvenirs and postcards at reasonable prices. Good advice on local cafes, too.

The ladies were very helpful at the Strahan visitor centre. We bought tickets for the Ship that never was from here and asked them a few questions about the attractions in the area.

They are quite busy, but it was worth the wait, all information gained gave us a big head start. We also booked a few things here, easily and efficiently

Nice centre, good information, well located. I liked their selection of tourist items, post cards, and just generally, had a nice feel.

The Visitor Centre was filled with information about different options to explore the area and also the surrounding towns/cities inc. Hobart, Launceston, Cradle Mountain etc. We found it helpful and the staff were so friendly and provided a lot of helpful verbal information as well. The actual centre was in a ship like building and was a change from your... More

This is worth a long stop - you'll find everything you need to know about the industries of Strahan and the West Coast here, with a lot of thoughtful and provocative commentary about people, politics, environmental battles and life in general. The staff are helpful and the displays have worn well in the 20 years since they were installed.

VERY helpful and cheerful ladies behind the counter. Booked us in for Gordon River cruise with NO probs even when they were finishing up for the day. They even recommended a restaurant to eat at. VERY impressed.
