The staff at visitor center were very helpful and lovely people, we booked a penguin trip with them and found the tour to be excellent! The captain and crew were very knowledgeable and informative regarding the areas history and the penguin colony itself. During a break we were served some excellent local produce which included cheeses and pinot wine to... More

There are good points and bad points , 1 main point don,t be supprised if it rains it will for 360 days of the year. 2 a must thing to do is see "the ship that never sailed" , the longest running live show in australia and only costs less than $20. 3 if you need to rely on your... More

Being winter and off season, there was only one staff member on duty, but she was wonderful! Great advice and information from her. She recommended "The Ship That Never Was" and we were glad she did because we loved it! Lots of information pamphlets here and some great souvenirs and postcards at reasonable prices. Good advice on local cafes, too.

The ladies were very helpful at the Strahan visitor centre. We bought tickets for the Ship that never was from here and asked them a few questions about the attractions in the area.

The Visitor Centre was filled with information about different options to explore the area and also the surrounding towns/cities inc. Hobart, Launceston, Cradle Mountain etc. We found it helpful and the staff were so friendly and provided a lot of helpful verbal information as well. The actual centre was in a ship like building and was a change from your... More
