This was an amazing high speed ride. The man who took us out who runs it (i forgot his name) was very informative on the history of the area.

We missed the river cruise and opted for the wild rivers jet ride. What a ride it was! the river was tranquil and the scenery around the shores was breathtaking. Lots of history to boot and the beautiful old Huon Pines were a sight not to be missed.

We rocked up at 1:50pm to make a booking for next day, but were advised weather might not be good, but he could fit us in at 2pm that day! He offered to wait while we grabbed warm clothes. So glad we did it then, next day was terrible weather as predicted. The trip itself was lots of fun, seven... More

We booked the trip with the Huon Pine Excursion which made the trip some 2 hrs overall. This was just what we needed as the alternative of a 5hr cruise on the Gordon River was too much.

Definitely worthwhile...we had so much fun with the wild spins in the boat and great commentary by the Skipper with lots of interesting history that you get to see close up. Strahan is a great day trip if you stay in Queenstown where its cheaper. Great food and attraction....this was a blast and highly recommended. They also do a longer... More

What a great morning adventure. A few spins in the water and a lot of exploration. Travelling along the harbour we then ventured up the King River. Our guide was full of useful information about the history of logging, mining, the railway and nature along our trip. I'd recommend this trip to anyone visiting Strahan.

A must do while you are in Strahan.. take a 50 min trip and Andrew, your skipper would take you for a wonderful ride. Can still feel the throttle of the boat in my veins.. cheers

Strahan is a very pleasant holiday village on the "bad weather" prone west coast of Tassie. The major activity here involves a boat trip across the brown tannin stained waters of Macquarie Harbour to see the environmental battleground of the Gordon-Franklin River dam proposal and some convict ruins. A very interesting alternative is the 1 hr jetboat ride up the... More

Pleased you enjoyed your ride! Yes, the King River looks better every day. Its 19 years now since mine waste went into the river system. I probably should clarify a couple of things for the benefit of others. The jet boat covers around 28 kilometers all up, but only around 6 kilometers are crossing the harbour to and from the... Yet another great experience in Strahan where the operators are knowledgable and obviously care about the area! Good fun and got to learn about the history and recuperation of the King River as well. Highly recommended!
