This is an excellent show, true story - with an incredible twist. The whole family loved it. Explains quite a bit about the convict history of Sarah Island. Good idea to follow up on that story with one of the boat tours past Sarah Island and Gordon River. The walkabout and stories on Sarah Island really make it come to... More

Not showing in winter but on a large TV in a nearby hotel. Half price and worth the money (plus after dark not much else to do)

This production is amazingly entertaining and educational. I experienced the play while accompanying a group of students on a trip around Tasmania and they were truly engaged in the history being played out before them. I recommend reading Marcus Clarke's "For The Term of His Natural Life" as another way to engage with the story of the play.

A fantastic night out. Our whole family (of 6) were involved in the play - but don't worry for those who fear audience participation - it really is fine and all good fun. Kids even got to get up on stage! Do dress warm though.

The locals kept telling us that this play was a must see but I don't think so! There were 3 actors (one of which didn't do anything too much) the rest was audience participation, which included my wife and I! It is very light entertainment with a very thin story line. We sort of enjoyed it but it wasn't really... More

What a great little play! The actors really get everyone involved which makes it even funnier! A must do when visiting Strahan :)

We were seated in a little ampitheatre at the Strahan visitors center, not sure what to expect.A cosy blanket and little hot water bottles kept us warm.A talented trio of locals with plenty of laughs, audience particpation, clever props, bought a slice of convict history to life.A great way to spend an hour after a day on the water,to reinforce the information we were... Going to this was just a last minute thing, but how glad were we. It was an experience not to miss. Had a wonderful time. The main character was a true delight and should be on broadway!

We were there during an antarctic blizzard. My sister and I took our 83 year old mother there after a day out on the Gordon River cruise. Think Mum nearly died when she saw the "Theatre" and expected her to revolt. Instead, she took it in her stride as we queued up for our hot water bottles and blankets. This... More

Although it's located outdoors, you feel as though you're indoors because of the canvas covering and blankets they provided. This play was much better than we anticipated providing some history and comedy as well as utilizing the audience. Would recommend attending. We had no problem purchasing our tickets the day of the performance. The cast also works at Sarah Island... More
