I know that this is a "gotta do" for a Taz trip but I wish I had just planned to see the bay and leave. It was very expensive to stay over and Freycinet National Park felt very touristy. Maybe because it is a fairly easy uphill hike to the look out.

We are not the fittest people around, we took a slow slow walk to the lookout, and we were panting. It it manageable, just take your time. It was about 300 steps (nearing the destination) after slopes and slopes, but there are views to entertain you with along the way and to keep you motivated. Once at the lookout you... More

Nice walk, but can be steep. Worth it, though. Remember to take water and leave plenty of time if you don't walk often.

The spectacular Wineglass Bay and Hazards Beach Circuit hike in Freycinet National Park is one of the greatest short walks in all of Australia. The trail winds upwards to the stunning Wineglass Bay lookout point, down to the pristine beach itself, across a wooded area and onwards to the windswept Hazards Beach circumventing the magnificent pink Hazards granite rock formations... Fantastic view of the bay and a perfect place to stop and catch your breath on the climb back up the steep path.

The views are amazing once you get to the top. The walk is uphill but not strenuous it is worth the walk to the top.

Must do for the East Coast tourie. Very popular, therefore can be overcrowded. The trick is to continue down to the beach walk along for about half the length then cross over the dunes at the markers to the other side of the bay and return to base. Best way to get the feel of the area and lovey exercise... More

This was a very rewarding bit of hard work. The stairs were the killer and just as soon as you think that it's over there are more! But it was such a beautiful view once we got to the top. Definitely worth the effort!
