We had smooth sailing from Melbourne to Devonport and the same back. We had a great time on the ship.We stayed in the 4 berth cabins. You can bring your own food to eat as long as its not fresh fruit or fish. You can bring soft drink or water from home. (The ship provides jugs of water and plastic cups)... More

Does a full moon make waves higher on Bass Strait? We thought so. With 2 family members, I took the car from Tassie to Melbourne and stayed in a 4 birth room. The public areas and rooms are a bit tired and old looking, but not tatty, just as well refurbishments are under way. Unfortunately this means no cinema or... More

My husband and his friend travelled for the first on the ship and had mixed reviews. On the way up to Tassie they booked the ocean recliners --NEVER AGAIN they said. Very uncomfortable and noisy. On the way back they booked a cabin and loved it. They ate in one of the more fancier restaurants on board and couldn't fault... More

We live in Queensland and our intention was to tour Tasmania in our Campervan. However what we did not realise was that Winter in Tasmania for Queenslanders used more temperate climate is akin to going to the North Pole as it is bitterly cold and in fact SO COLD as to make such a trip a No! No!. There is... More

Took my car Devenport to Melbourne. The whole car checkin process brilliant. You pass through an entry for vehicles and as you drive up to booth they already know who you are by yoyr rego, you get your documents etc, stay in your car, drive aboard, get out of your car, locate your cabin ( if you took a cabin... Enjoyed a smooth crossing. Unfortunately the Spirit had the cinema closed for refurbishment and the top decks closed. The restaurants have very limited choice and at $31/head for the basic meals I thought they were a bit expensive. The cabins are good, beds comfortable and the showers functional.

Smooth ride, ferry left and arrived on time. I even managed to have a snooze. Took the car with us and encountered no problems. Very happy. Would do it again.

A great way to take your car to and from Tassie. However on my first trip I didn't take sea sickness tablets and suffered terribly and didn't enjoy it one bit. On my way back I took the tablets and had a wonderful time. Great free movie cinema and spotted dolphins from the deck. Good eating area and you can... More

It is difficult to review the actual trip as it is dependent on the weather. Our trip Melbourne to Devonport was quite rough and an interrupted sleep, however Devonport to Melbourne was much smoother. We booked a cabin, thank heavens! The boat arrives in the early hours of the morning and we started sightseeing straight away, I couldnt have done... More
