We were on the 7th deck, and the cabin was a window one. It was extremely pleasant. The food on board was passable, if not memorable - usual cafeteria fare. We had a great bottle of wine before the ship began rocking, then took to the horizontal asap. Not sure how this would be in a big sea - I... More

We did a day trip to Devonport late January and a return 2 weeks later to Melbourne. I found it tedious but my wife liked it. Takes about an hour to drive on and a further hour for the ship to move. At the other end it takes at least 30 minutes to drive off the ship. Ad to that... More

We all enjoyed a comfortable trip. The seas were a little heavy so experienced some turbulence that evening in bed. The food at the restaurant was good. Cabins were clean and had been well serviced. We had no vehicles or pets but felt that we had to partake of the ferry experience. However, because of the additional expense and inconvenience... More

Taking our car on board was well organized from Melbourne to Deavonport. There was a brief inspection of car and luggage for quarantine and we were handed our cabin keys at the toll booth then made our way slowly in the que to our spot in the garage on board. Our deluxe cabin at the front of the ship consisted... More

Went over with the family new years eve Not too bad able to sleep as our cabin was placed mid range of the ship On return our cabin was 3/4's to the rear of the ship and the engine vibration made it impossible to sleep a real battle on top of the urine covered toilet that had not been cleaned... What a great experience. Everything was hassle free, We booked a 4 bed cabin (even though only two of us) but it was great, plenty of room, clean and pillows and bed comfy. We did not eat any food, just had a drink from the bar and prices were reasonable. We were informed about times of arrival etc and it... More

The spirit of tassie is really the only way to go if you are planning on driving your own car to the island state. Make sure you bring a bit of spending money, because the trip is boring, and we all know we are all inclined to eat away the boredom, and this adds up. On board they ran a... More

We were on the voyage where the Spirit broke off its mooring in Melbourne. The whole staff were exceptional and our journey ended up being great. Top marks for working through very difficult circumstances

We did a day crossing & got the recliners which was good to get away from all the noise every now & then. Boat had everything you could need in the way of food & drinks.

Payed the extra money for a seat, most other people don't! They take over ALL other available seats, & never move. So if you want to eat at a table or sit in the bar to have a drink (like all the marketing lies suggest) forget it. Not once were our seat tickets checked, every time we left our seat... More
