My wife and I recently experienced a return journey to Tasmania aboard The Spirit of Tasmania. Travelled on the spirit of tasmania with my wife and 3 children. We got ocean recliners and thought that they were ok to sleep in for a night.a bit of noise but not that much to keep us awake. Food not very nice looking and very over priced but we had own food to eat on board. Staff were good... More

We travelled on The Spirit of Tasmania in November and were lucky enough to have had two tranquil voyages! We originaly had planned to eat in the Captains Table self sevice restaurant and although it appeared very good value it seemed a bit like eating in a canteen to us. So a bit late in the evening we went to... More

My partner and I just arrived back from Tasmania. We upgraded to the deluxe cabin from a two bed cabin on our return trip and the extra money was definitely worth it. We were tired after a week travelling and had a three hour drive on arriving back in Melbourne. The deluxe cabin is large, comfortable, great views from the... More

Go with low expectations. This is not a cruise boat, it is a glorified bus remember. And as the only passenger boat option to get across the bass straight they have no incentive to do better. Expect basic accommodation in the cabins, and a tiny bathroom. In terms of getting on and off with a car, we got to Devonport... More
