We opted for a day sailing to and from Tassie because we wanted to take advantage of the $10 return offer for kids. What an absolute bargain and a great start to the holiday. Who doesn't like a bargain? Boarding was slow but organised and probably what you would expect. We arrived 2 hours before boarding to ensure we got... More

Imagine two decks of children running and screaming (despite having a designated play area) while their parents ignore how obnoxious their under parenting is for other travellers and staff seem only to stare into the distance. Everywhere is loud. There is no designated quiet area, nor are the travellers tactful enough to respect a quiet area that others have created.... More

We've been on the Spirit of Tasmania several times now, and our children think it's part of the holiday! They LOVE going on the ferry, and even though they missed out on bunkbeds and porthole windows with the day sailing, we had nice weather and were able to go outside on the deck and enjoy the wind and water view.... Travelled to and from Tassie on Spirit overnight in a cabin for disabled persons. Trip down rocking but as mildly disabled could manage. Food at Captains Table not great but edible. Was told by booking clerk Oxygen Concentrator would work OK but when got on board was told it may not work(it didn't). Trip back in very high seas and... More

We travelled to Tasmania on the Spirit for the first time. Loading was slow but safe and methodical. Once on board we found our cabin and explored the ship. Our trip was not smooth but because we had a cabin we were able to relax and stay away from those that were obviously suffering from Mal de Mer. The crew... More

We travelled with our car in December and could only get an ocean recliner on the night sailing. Usually I can fall asleep anywhere at any time, but I couldn't for the life of me fall asleep in the recliner. If you were doing a day sailing trip, or had a cabin, it would be quite an enjoyable trip. But... More

We went over to tasmania on the spirit in dec and returned on it 3 weeks later. Both times we did night travel and found it to be a wonderful service. We travelled with 9 and 11 year olds and they to loved it. We had a 4 berth cabin it was clean and had a great little private bathroom.... More

We took our car to Tassy as we were going to be there for nine days - otherwise you would fly and just hire a car. The loading experience was painfully slow and, while I'm sure there is a system for loading, it is impossible to fathom what it is. The overnight trip is the only way to go, and... More

We did both journeys during the day, very long days. Doesn't seem to be very organised getting on and off allow an extra 2 hours for getting off and on the ship. Food limited choice but quite cheap. The ship does provide entrainment but doesn't last long. No one likes to give up their seats once they find one and... More
