The drive into dove lake from the chateau is breathtaking and it can be difficult to concentrate on the road at times. Plenty of wildlife to see as well. This is an easy walk on mostly flat ground... even those who aren't very fit could manage it. The track is mostly duckboard. Great views on the way...plenty of places to stop for photos... recommendation is to walk in a clockwise direction for the best views. More

We did the Dove Lake hike on a sunny, but windy day in April. The surroundings are just beautiful with distinctive Tasmanian flora and fauna in abundance. The hike is of medium effort with some elevation and well maintained paths. The views of Cradle Mountain are just magnificent. This is not to be missed. More
