This walk was lovely, of course would be even better on a fine day but they are few and far between in May! Just be careful because it can be slippery in some parts. We had to go carefully because it was so wet and it took us over 2 hours. Well worth the effort, a lovely part of the... More

The drive into dove lake from the chateau is breathtaking and it can be difficult to concentrate on the road at times. Plenty of wildlife to see as well. We have seen spotted quolls, wombats, echidnas and wedge tailed eagles. The walk around Dove lake is very easy as the boardwalks are fantastic especially if you are not as mobile... More

This is an easy walk on mostly flat ground... even those who aren't very fit could manage it. The track is mostly duckboard. Great views on the way...plenty of places to stop for photos... recommendation is to walk in a clockwise direction for the best views. More

The walk from Dove Lake carpark, Hanson Peak, Face Walk to Kitchen Hut takes about 4.5 hours and is worth the effort and better than the Dove Lake walk. The walk more or less follows the upper rim of the ridgelines which surround Dove lake and the views are spectacular. Need to start early in the day, take lunch, wet... More

This is THE short walk you have to do if you are visiting Cradle Mountain. Most is on boardwalk or otherwise well structured track but it can get pretty wet in places. More

A 2-hour walk around the lake is a must to do. Words fail to describe such beauty and the tranquillity. More

The Dove Lake trail is is the best place for walking and getting multiple views of Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake. Be prepared for changing weather conditions. It was bright and sunny when we started the walk. After 30 minutes, it turned cold and started running. More

Weather wasn't brilliant, but managed a walk round Lake Lilla, Wombat Pool and up to Marion's Lookout, with some misty views of Cradle Mountain, then down from Marion's lookout and back to the carpark. Also visited the Wilderness Gallery, the visitors' centre, the cafe and the interpretation centre, where we did the short walk. More

We did the Dove Lake hike on a sunny, but windy day in April. The surroundings are just beautiful with distinctive Tasmanian flora and fauna in abundance. The hike is of medium effort with some elevation and well maintained paths. The views of Cradle Mountain are just magnificent. This is not to be missed. More
