We thoroughly enjoyed our Inala Nature stay/Bruny Island tour. The Guest House was welcoming, clean, & well-stocked. There was even a washer/dryer in the unit. Tea, coffee, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, etc. all in the fridge. When we asked for oatmeal (porridge) & cinnamon, it was quickly given to us. Inala was once a working ranch & slowly Tonia is... More

Tonia gave us a superb tour of the place and gardens when we visited as part of a guided tour around Bruny. She is passionate about her work and I enjoyed her vision for the future and her "matter of fact" attitude. I would thoroughly recommend a visit here. We had a lovely time feeding a tiny wallaby which she... More

Bruny Island is a special place for birds and wildlife, and Inala is truly a Tasmanian treasure. The owner Dr. Tonia Cochran provides a haven for wildlife, a wildlife rehabilitation center, 2 cozy and comfortable cabins, and nature tours for mainland Australia and Tasmania. As if this weren't enough, she and her staff are also building a bird blind and... More

My husband Michael and I and our friend Ian and I went on an amazing morning and evening tour with Tonia. As residents in Hobart and lovers of the environment, nature and birds, this was a must do tour for us to . Tonia took everyone around her amazing property, where the land is being so carefully nurtured for all... More

We spent a rainy summer day with Tonia and thoroughly enjoyed it. We got to see lots of Bruny Island and learned a lot about the Island and its birds and other animals. Because the weather wasn't great, we had to work for some of the birds, but Tonia's knowledge of the island and the birds saved the day. She... More

We book a full day tour with Tonia. Being our first visit to Bruny, all the birds and wildife was new. We stared witha walk around the property, which is being restored for native wildlife. We saw lots of birds, including many of the local specialties and endemics. Saw many of the mammals, including some of the white wallabies, and... More

My wife and I had the privilege of spending an evening on a nocturnal tour (wallabies, pademelons, penguins, tawny frogmouths) and a morning bird watching tour (40 spotted and striated pardalotes) with Dr. Tonia Cochran. Wow -- Tonia's commitment to protecting, rescuing, and caring for wildlife is unparalleled, as is her knowledge of the critters to whom she has dedicated... More

First let me say that I am fully aware that by writing this review I will be criticising an icon of Australian wildlife (Tonia), but our experience of the tour we booked with her was just bad. The guide we had (who will remain nameless, but wasn't Tonia) didn't really seem interested in showing us much and certainly couldn't act... More

Tonia here in reply to Nuthatch_birder's feedback. I was mortified when told that these clients had not enjoyed their half day tour with our Inala guide, as we have a strong commitment to client satisfaction and aim to provide the best and most rewarding experience possible. Although I am not able to guide all our tours personally, we use a... More

The INALA cabin on Bruny Island was our final stop after touring Australia for a month. We traversed the country North to South and even more. By the time we got to the farm on Bruny Island, from the ferry off Tasmania, we were pretty much burned out. We thought. Then we took a look around and found our second... More

We spent a surreal few hours on the night tour with Tonia. She was warm, friendly, and shared with us her obvious expertise with none of the communication limitations that afflict some highly accomplished specialists when talking with non-professional enthusiasts such as us. Tonia knew where to be, when to be there, and also where not to be throughout our... More
