The parks are clean and well looked after. There are a number of memorial benches and I am glad to say they are well maintained and free from graffiti and damage, which is so often the case in other parks. South Marine park is charming, and good for a short run, with only 1 steep hill. Also a great place... More

the new promenade along Littlehaven beach gives good views of the entrance to Tyne and the town of Tynemouth across the river. from the highest part of North marine park the habour arms and Littlehaven beach are laid out before you. Walked to south park for lunch at attractive cafe near lake. bowl of water available for my dog.

Two lovely parks well maintained and clean both opposite each other. Marine park has a boating lake and a small steam train which runs around the perimeter of the lake, a couple of children play areas and a lovely little cafe with an outside eating area for when the weather is good. The other park is more traditional with lovely... More

I've been coming here for years, I love it. They've done a great job in renovating the place, it's now a great place to bring kids and take dogs for a walk. Got to love the pond :) very enjoyable.

One of the best parks in the North East, well done to the local council, real investment for everyones benefit! So much to do here for everyone, any age. From the minature railway, boating lake, range of childrens activity parks, slides, swings etc... lovely cafe with reasonable prices and super range of food. The gardens are immaculate and the whold... More

We were very impressed with the childrens play area. The surface is very bouncy if they fell and the equipment is very safe. The sandpit is highly technical and stretches childs imagination. There is a lovely train going around the lake . We saw it being tested but had to leave before they were running it.

We visited south marine park on our way home from our holiday stay. Our b&b was only two mins away, so we thought we'd have a look. The park was beautiful, very clean and tidy and the children's play areas were fantastic. It was great to see no graffiti and everything in working order! My two year old really enjoyed... More

It's a beautiful place in general, unfortunately we went when a large group of thuggish males were drinking cans of Stella and swearing loudly. It was 11am in South Shields so probably to be expected! The council seem to spend millions on making everything look nice but nothing to make it secure. Saltwell park has security and foot patrols.
