Rather dull and caters to a particular clientele. A bit of a white elephant really. I have been there on a few occasions.

We loved The Rose Theatre and thoroughly enjoyed our night at the opera! The cafe/bar is very cosy and attractive with 'shabby chic' decor and a great choice of drinks and snacks. The theatre is a half moon shape and the stage can be seen from all angles. The upholstered double bench seats are surprisingly comfy too. Will hopefully visit... More

I've visited this place twice now. Once to see a stand up comedian and the other to hear a talk by a Hollywood actor. The main room where I saw the comedy was amazing! Great sound and visibility, but the talk with the actor was in a horrible little room, on very uncomfortable chairs and with a bizarre humming noise... More

If anyone gets the chance to see this comedy, then do, you will laugh until your sides hurt. I can't remember the last time I went to the theatre to see anything other than a musical, but this was well worth it: the timing was excellent in every context. A wonderful birthday present for my mum!

Been to a few of the productions, always top quality. And, the theatre is also a great venue for holding a business event.

Excellent production. Lovely little theatre, close to the river, with a pleasant bar and cafe. Highly recommended. We are looking forward to booking again.

Our first visit to this theatre, which was completed just after we left the area to live on the South Coast. Having read excellent reviews of a play which was touring, we decided to kill two birds with one stone and see this production and the theatre. We were so pleased that we had made the effort to do this... More

I'm not a theatre goer, but will definately be a Rose Theatre goer. Took my daugher to see Hetty Feather and we really enjoyed it. It's not huge, so feels really cosy. I love the idea of the pit cushions and prices were quite reasonable. There is a lovely bar and the whole place is feels really family friendly.

I love The rose. Staff are friendly. There is a nice cafe for a pre theatre cuppa. I particularly enjoy the comedy nights and being able to see huge stars at my local theatre. last year I saw Alison Steadman & Maureen Lipman. Both gave fantastic performances. Loving Linda is a great night of comedy for a very good cause.... More
