Plenty of space for children to run about. Several different length marked trails. Large car parks. Gruffalo trail very good for little ones.

I have been there a number of times and it is easy to see why it is so busy. Lots of play areas and walking trails to explore and spend the day. Plenty of benches for picnics as well as a cafe to purchase food. It is also very clean, which is very good.

We took our two young gradndchildren to this forest to see the Gruffalo Trail - we spent half a day and good have stayed longer. The Gruffalo Trail takes you through beautiful forest along well maintained tracks. Along the trail there are many things for the children to do - climbing frames, tunnels, fireman's pole, etc - all sympathetically presented... More

Had a half day here, a lovely walk in the woods, got a little lost at one point, signs could be a little clearer, but it has a cafe and toilets, would be great with dogs and children on a fine day.

We visited with our 4 year old son as I had been told by another friend that this place is this really great... We were not disappointed! The forest is beautiful and SO well - maintained. The play areas for the children are huge, brilliantly thought out and really different. The HUGE wooden owl with fireman's pole was a firm... More

The gruffalo themed walk was fantastic but why charge so much to park? The £1.50 an hour parking charge does not encourage you to linger and enjoy the forest. It was extremely busy on the weekend, especially with families looking for a Gruffalo.

We've just paid for the annual parking pass, for the fourth year. Not only does this make it hassle free, but you end up going all the time and get 10% off in the café. Alice Holt is a great place for so many reasons. Have no comprehension why some people say it can be expensive given what is on... More

Out to make money from a captive audience. Capitalising on the forest's natural beauty but letting the side down when it comes to value for money. Take a flak of coffee and an egg sandwich to enjoy the day.

This place is well looked after and is clearly loved by the people who keep it the way it is. Paying for parking is probably a factor here, as the money obviously goes into maintenance and upgrading. There are two lovely play parks (one for the little rascals and one for the more "balanced"). There's also the "Go Ape" experience,... More

We have been here so many times, the kids love it, and it's a brilliant place for them to burn off excess energy! All year round there is the main play area with wooden play equipment including a pirate ship with plank to walk, houses for "tea parties", a slide, fireman pole, and roundabout. There are several walks around the... More
