Despite being a Tamworth resident, I actually hadn't visited the (inside of the) Castle in probably over ten years. I recently took my two daughters (aged 7 and 5) along specifically to see some of the Victorian activities that were happening from 18th-20th August as my eldest daughter had mentioned that she will be learning about Victorians upon her return... Standing high over Tamworth, this castle isn't the biggest you can visit but it is one of the most endearing. Rooms are dressed as they would have been hundreds of years ago and there's lots of hands on displays and interactivity for the kids. During school holidays this extends to crafting sessions and storytelling, Climb up to the rooftop flagpole... More

We were met at the entrance by a very friendly and enthusiastic member of staff and told about the children's trail and activities... More

Absolutely brilliant day out. Two children (age 4 and 6) were engaged throughout. Lots to do and see - dressing up and role play, art and craft activities etc. The historical information about the castle was excellent too, so lots for the grown ups to read while the children play and learn. Very reasonably priced entrance fee, and a small... More
