Visited here, as part of 5 people, one being a 4 year old, he enjoyed it as much as us, you can dress up as a knight and try on all types of wigs worn through the ages....there is plenty to do and see in this beautiful old castle dating back 1000 years...even a few resident ghosts!! the staff are... Good price to get in, we were a mixed age group ( age 2 - 60 plus) the helpful man on the gate saw that we got the best price for our group. Informative and entertaining, will come back again.

It is only a small castle but has a fair amount to offer, The castle retains an authentic feel despite many new displays and exhibtions. It's a good place to take kids as there is a lot for them to do and get involved with so they won't be bored. Many of the rooms they actually ask you to touch... More

We visited as part of a tour group learning about the Staffordshire Hoard. Unfortunately, as the Castle holds very little of the Hoard itself, the trip was a little irrelevant. However, we were entertained by two guides dressed up in Anglo-Saxon garb, who then proceeded to take us on a guided tour through the history of Britain within the Castle... More

Absolutely outstanding, what a fantastic experience, lots to see and touch, very interactive. Staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. This really is the best of the tamworth attractions. Living only a few miles away just disappointed that I have never been before. I will definitely return.

The castle and area around has plenty of attractions, good garden areas. Castle has plenty of exhibits and tells the story of Tamworth in an accessible manner.

We had a really interesting and informative day at Tamworth Castle. The weeks theme was Saxon England, and our 5 year old grandson much enjoyed the dressing up in chain mail, breast plate and helmet, to depict a child of the times. So much to explore in the castle, and the grounds are beautiful. Staff dressed in costume of the... More

A small castle with a lot of history dating from the Normans up to the present. There are a lot of items you can touch and try on ( great fun for the kids). The castle over looks the town in one direction and a park in another. There's plenty of parking within walking distance of the castle.

I have visited Tamworth Castle many times, as a child , with my own children and as a teaching assistant on class trips. This has to be one of Tamworth's most under used attractions. It is a beautiful building with lots of interesting features. There are various different things for the children to take part in from dressing up ,... More

Went to the castle today, mainly to kill time before going to the Snowdome, but had a good time there. You can go around it all pretty quickly, we spent a fair bit of time in the main hall at a WW1 "exhibition", which was really just one lady talking and playing with instruments, she did a good job of...
