If you live in the Midlands like I do, you NEED to go here! I did not know about it until a recent Google search for somewhere to go on a sunny day. Great value, very informative and in a pretty setting of Tamworth public park. The flowers were in full bloom - beautiful! The Castle took us a good... More

Tamworth Castle is one of those places you've probably heard about and bought: Tamworth? Maybe not. Think again. It is a great day out for the whole family, a couple (young or old) or on your own. There is something for everyone there: plenty of knowledgable staff on hand to go be you recreations of olde worlde methods of sewing... More

My 5 year old and I dropped into the castle this morning with neither forward planning nor much expectation of a small castle in our small, unassuming town. We spent a really pleasant few hours in the museum. I hadn't been since I was a child, little older than my own and I was surprised by how satisfying the views... More

A hidden gem. We went with two grandchildren. The 9 year old loved it and there was plenty to entertain her and keep her interested. The 18month old just had fun being there. Not an all dayer but combined with the nearby park and gardens is well worth a drive.

With my wife we visited this lovely castle on a Friday. It is easily reached on foot from the town centre (it is virtually in the town centre). It is a motte and bailey castle and quite small which made it possible to see everything at leisure. There was a noisy school party there at the same time but to... More

Visited here with friends and their children aged 9&11. There was plenty to see and talk about. The displays were informative and the children enjoyed the dressing up. When we arrived we were informed that there was a school party there and that we could choose to come back later if we wanted. We chose to visit at the same... More

I went to Tamworth Castle with my partner today, neither of us had ever been inside the castle before, we were NOT disappointed. The staff were friendly and very lovely (even when they realised we'd gone round backwards they weren't mean, just asked if we'd got lost, which we had). The exhibits are astounding and the main dining room is... More
