The castle and it's grounds grounds are lovely. It's a wonderful place for walking and enjoying the views with the locals as opposed to bus loads of tourists. Treat yourself to an ice cream, relax on a bench and watch the world go by.

Took my son and 3 grandchildren to Tamworth castle. Entrance fee for all around £22.50. You are allowed to explore at your will. Children collect your entry form for spotting things as you go around, fill it in and collect your free lollipop at the end. In the courtyard there is a tower which you can climb and a dungeon.... Really liked this castle, although there was not much in the way of grounds outside. The museum and the rooms to explore were great - lovely rooms, and unlike NT, you can touch most things, which is great for kids, and big kids like me....

I had never been here before and was realty surprised by what a great place this is. Our 3 year old daughter loved it and the staff were great, telling us about all of the events held throughout the year. Will certainly be back.

Had a lovely trip back in time to the Tamworth castle very interesting and lots to see and do. The tower was great and so were the staff. Only downside is you can't take pushchairs through so little legs may need some carrying.

Just returned from visiting Tamworth and really glad I visited the castle. Despite it being a solo visit there was plenty of information to read on my way around that took me through the entire history of the castle. The display of Anglo Saxon finds in one of the rooms was my main favourite. If you have children there are... More

Brilliant castle with a wealth of displays. Many rooms are child friendly which is a refreshing change. Lots of things for children to do; dressing up stations, interactive playing etc.....would definitely recommend it to families. There is no pushchair access and lots of steps. The staff were very friendly. There's a couple of car parks near to the castle, we... More
