Our second St Andrews golf pilgrimage concluded with a trip to Goswick on the way down this year, this was the only course we played again from last years trip. It may well be something of an annual event! Yes we were lucky to get blue skies and sunshine both times but even so it can only be discribed as... More

I might have played Goswick under benign conditions, but the test was still absolutely present. Long and demanding, fairway hits are a must. Early in the season, one can get away with the odd ball in the rough, but shouldn't be attempted during full summer. From the first round, hole 9 gave a wonderful impression, although there are par 4's... More

The course is everything one would expect of a links course - especially in the wind! Most holes are different in style and provide a stern test of golf. All the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful and the bacon sandwiches before play and soup and sandwiches after play were generously portioned and very good quality

Have to say, I am a member here, and compared to other offerings in the locality, premier league compared to non league. A true test in the winter, off a specially prepared course, in fact some say a bit more difficult. In the summer when the course is running, and the rough is up, a real gem, off course costs... Great links golf course and given it's off the beaten track it's tremendous value for money. I play a couple of rounds in March with Friends and return every year. The course is a great test every hole different from the last. If Golfing in the area it should be first on your list.

Classic links course . We were lucky I suppose to have very decent September weather and little wind but whatever the conditions the course was terrific and I look forward to playing it again. As with most it is a course I am sure I can improve upon with the usual links intricacies and surprises catching me out first time.... More

This is one of the best links courses I have played in all my years as a golfer. OK it's not as grand or imposing as some of the others, St Andrews, Turnberry, Western Gailes, Royal Troon etc.(and i'm not just name dropping) but the welcome and the condition of the course was superb. If you get the chance, you... More

On our groups annual trip to Northumberland this year this was our first of three courses booked to play. This really is a wonderfully Links course(only bettered by Bamburgh Castle on day 2), made even tougher by a wind of the north sea. with some very challenging hole for all our group which ranged from 8 to 28 handicap golfers.... Played this course in May 2014 and the course was in wonderful condition. Very tough when the wind is blowing, and it certainly was when I played it. Very punishing bunkers (and there are plenty of them) but the rough was fair. Greens were in excellent condition. Certainly a course I would return to but hopefully next time with a... More

Played this course for the first time on a recommendation...and fact that Its part of the James Braid association of courses that effectively gives half price golf for members of participating clubs. Considering I had my 17 year old daughter in tow, (who to be honest found the course rather tough for her 'relative' inexperience) everyone we met from the... More
