Park in the large carpark by the dunes just outside Bamburgh on the road to Seahouses. The long walk across the dunes adds to the theatre of the location. As you walk through a small gap in the towering dunes, you see the view of the distant Farne Islands and Lighthouses. We went early evening and if you walk along... More

Absolutely loved this place, not too crowded. So clean and hardly any litter. Went there in the evening and to see the sun set was magical. Went back several times whilst I was there, so surreal and magical.

The "parking strip" is now at least 1 mile down a very straight forward track and then to the beach over dunes and grass but worth the short walk. Loved it. We arrived at 11am and despite the cars already there we seemed to be the only people on the whole stretch of beach. With views of Bamburgh castle, Farne... More

An out of the way place that you have to walk to. You park about a mile away. The sands are what you expect of Northumberland beaches. Absolutely brilliant. Apart from the sound of the sea it is peace itself. Plenty of bird life and you will see the odd seal in the water. You will also get an unfamiliar... More

Well worth the 3/4 mile walk through a field and dunes to get to. Once there, there are no facilities but what greets you is 3 miles of golden sand and very few visitors. A warm dry day in July and we counted 6 other people during the whole afternoon we spent there. Our 2 dogs had fantastic fun with... More

Quiet beach where you have to walk about three quarters of a mile across the dunes to get there but well worth it.

Don't understand the previous review. the weather in the NE is NOT rubbish!!! it's very dry and sunny. yes, it's a bit cooler but i'll take that over the damp, warmer climate any day. Anyway, this is amazing. The coastline in this part of the world is breathtaking. I hope it remains a secret otherwise it will be ruined!!!!!!!!!!

It's a good job the weather in the NE of England is rubbish or this beach would be completely spoilt! Walking along the beach with Bamburgh castle as the back drop is spectacular, it would be hard not to be impressed. Tip for parking is to drive past the castle and follow the signs to the golf course, keep going... More

What a brilliant find this was. Close-ish to our self-catering accommodation at Spindlestone Mill, near Waren Mill, and it perfect summer weather. The beauty of the place is you have to walk there for a mile or so,and as no one walks nowadays the beach was populated by comparatively few people even on such a perfect day. Obviously the landscape... More

This is a remote beach in Northumberland but well worth the effort to get to it - arguably one of the best in England. The parking area will only accommodate about 10 cars and it is then a 3/4 mile walk through dunes (a Site of Special Scientific Interest - so stick to the well marked path and dogs must... More
