We recently spent a week in Northumberland with our dogs. I can honestly say that the coastline in this area is spectacular, long stretches of pristine sand, huge sandunes, crystal clear waters....amazing. We enjoyed Bamburgh, small town with a spectacular castle overlooking it and the sea. It was free parking and terrific walks all around it. Go there...have a paddle...chill... More

Looking for a sandy beach to walk our dogs and think I found the best in the country. It was unspoilt clean and quiet, we have travelled up and down England but this is the best beach by far

We were staying in the area at Christmas and often walked on the beach. The coastline here is fantastic, it has not been ruined with arcades, Donkey rides and sea side town tattoo shops! It is unspoilt and beautiful. I can imagine it being wonderful in the summer

I like the remoteness of this beach and the slightly scary area beyond with the shifting sands and quicksands should you foolishly stray into it. The main beach is very safe to walk along and gives wonderful views of Holy Island and down towards Bamburgh. The walk to reach the beach means that it is never crowded and only more... More

This is one of our very favourite walks in North Northumberland. It is so beautiful and unspoilt and much quieter than the main beach at Bamburgh. One has to walk from the small road where the car can be parked across a track that leads to dunes which then open out with glorious views of the golden beach and sea.... More

So unspoiled and out of the way of the main beach infront of the Castle. The Beach is huge and the water looks so clean. Superb Beach.

This is a great seaside village. Classy and clean. My kids love this place for the beach and my gran love this place for the tea rooms. Four generations of the family are all happy in one place. If you have a dog, then this is place to bring him/her to run free. (Please remember to bag the poo!). If... More

This is the best beach in GB and it is clean /unspolid. We just love this area of the Northunmberland coast. The area has some very good quality eating places and views are fab on a clear day over to Farne Island and Holy isle.

I'm not sure if this beach has a formal naturist section beyond common sense and consideration for others. This was not an issue for my visit as I was the only person on the entire beach for most of the hour I spent there. Having followed the advice from other websites to park at Ross and then walk about 400... More
