What a brilliant find this was. Close-ish to our self-catering accommodation at Spindlestone Mill, near Waren Mill, and it perfect summer weather. The beauty of the place is you have to walk there for a mile or so,and as no one walks nowadays the beach was populated by comparatively few people even on such a perfect day. Obviously the landscape... More

This is a remote beach in Northumberland but well worth the effort to get to it - arguably one of the best in England. The parking area will only accommodate about 10 cars and it is then a 3/4 mile walk through dunes (a Site of Special Scientific Interest - so stick to the well marked path and dogs must... More

This place seems little known but is well worth finding. A beautiful beach, dunes, and views of Bamburgh in one direction and Lindisfarne in the other. Very few people there even on a sunny day.

This really is the best beach l have ever walked on. Just stunning views, lovely sand and no people. Please keep this a secret as the day we went it had a total of 6 people on 3 miles of sands. Please note that it is 30 minute walk and there are no facilities, so not suitable for everyone.

Lovely beach, a fabulous place to walk. The most amazing views I have ever seen on a beach..Lindisfarne, Banburgh Castle, and Grace Darlings lighthouse all from the one spot....incredible!

You wonder where you are heading to when you turn off the B road, but after about a mile walk through the fields and sand dunes you come to the most amazing beach, totally unspoilt with fantastic views of Holy Island to the NOrth and Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands to the South. We often walk this beach and... More

A bit of a walk to get there, but this has benefits as the beach doesn't attract the masses, unlike Bamburgh beach. Great views up and down the coast and of Holy Island.

Beautiful beach, a bit of a walk to get there and difficult for my elderly relatives. Once we got there though, amazing!!! A must go to place, especially if you have dogs!

One of the best sandy beaches in the UK - at least a mile & a half walk from car over dunes with grazing sheep so dogs had to be on lead. But the beach when you reach it is well worth the effort absolutely stunning, sun shining light breeze Bamburgh Castle as a backdrop doesn't get much better than... More

Never having been to Ross Back Sands before we decided to give it a go, shame it rained (but then what else do expect for December. Apart from only one track in and the same one back out it was a very easy walk, yes the view across to Holy Island and then to Bamburgh Castle was great but then... More
