One of the best beaches in Northumberland - over-looked by the amazing and historically important Bamburgh castle. You can imagine Oswald and Aiden in discussion at this site, see out to Lindifarne, and imagine the vikings raiding this coast. Or enjoy the early morning golden glow on a beautiful dune girt beach.

We visited during the school holidays whilst on holiday in the area and were lucky enough to have a gorgeous warm sunny day for it. The beach is an expanse of golden sand and clean, clear sea, our son loved having a plodge and we enjoyed his reaction to the freezing water! The sand is great for sandcastle building and... More

This is a fantastic beach - wide, form (sand castle building) sands, with dunes that goes on for miles. Great for kids, walks and kite flying. Th only problem? The weather and the temperature of the sea - you will turn blue of you try it.

This is a fabulous beach (one of many along the Northumberland coast) and varies enormously according to the weather and season. The views are magnificent of Bamburgh castle and out to sea to the Farne islands group and south to Seahouses. Depending on the weather you can have the beach almost to yourself, but even in the height of summer... More

We came here as a late afternoon stop-off to give the kids a run out on the beach. The beach and surroundings were recommended by my parents. We found the whole place absolutely stunning. The kids enjoyed having a paddle in the water and we all commented on the gorgeous view. Accessibility may have been more difficult than we had... More

Have been on holiday to Bamburgh 4 out of the past 5 years and it is a wonderful place. This beach is great fun for everyone - tall sand dunes to run down, tide that comes satisfyingly in to drown your sand castles and a great expanse of beach that feels like it goes on for ever. The walk to/from... More

This is a beautiful long expanse of relatively deserted beach with Bamburgh Castle as its backdrop. On a sunny afternoon it is just glorious.

I love this beach but begrudge shouting too much about it for fear of making it too popular. But with big expanses of sand, not too busy and that castle standing next to it, on a sunny day it cannot be beaten. Love visiting and letting the boys loose to play cricket, build sand castles, dam the stream and have... More

This beach on a sunny day is one of the best places in the country. So clean and tidy very well kept. Stunning with the castle in the background. Free parking.

Huge beach, hardly anyone on it. Fantastic views all around, best view of Bamburgh castle. If breezy just get in sand dunes and your sheltered from wind. A lovely spot and still amazed how few people go to it, think lots of people dont realise its there at bottom of narrow street. Spent many happy hours on this beach, one... More
