This beach is 1 word ..... stunning. Forget spending hours at airports to get to overpacked trashy beaches get in the car and get to St Aidens beach. With the castle as your backdrop and miles of sea infront of you its an amazing place. Dogs are welcome. The beach is massive so plenty of room for everyone. If you... More

I've travelled extensively around the UK and this has to be the most spectacular beach in the country. If you're looking for a family holiday with amenities, shops, etc.; then this beach is not for you as it is not a seaside resort (try Seahouses instead). If however, you're looking for peace and tranquility and some amazing views, this place... More

This is the longest and widest beach I have ever visited - I have been visited this for years. Great wide band of sand with a rolling North Sea - great place for families, dog walkers and just people in general - it is so big I could never imagine it getting busy - always worth a visit!

Enjoyed a relaxing afternoon sat on this beach, with the sun beating down, Farne Islands to the right, Holy Island to the left, behind Bamburgh Castle, tide out, what more do you want for an afternoon of relaxation. Sandwiches from the Castle Inn, bottle of vino, book, other half, magic!

Amazing golden sands well worth a day by the sea and so quiet (issue with some idiots letting dogs run wild) This view and location alone worth the visit and we also enjoyed the castle. Great for flying the kite and a brave daughter enjoyed the clean sea even though very cold! Some great rock pools and beautiful walks

This amazing, stunning beach is ruined by folk letting their dogs run free. Not so bad if there weren't hundreds of them! The common response as a dog runs at you or your children is, 'It won't hurt you', or 'It won't trouble'. It just has! Please take more care dog owners. I would like the beach to be statutorily... This beach is a must see, absolutely gorgeous and untouched, you forget how beautiful England's coastline is until you have been here, and they are very dog friendly, water bowls outside the shops/pubs and dog bins everywhere... Our dog had a fantastic time along with us.

This is the beach I grew up playing on and every beach I've visited since has had a lot to live up to... It's glorious, beautiful and a walk along it whether in rain or shine is good for the soul. If you haven't alrady visited then out it on your bucket list.
