The Tanners Arms ale house features six handpulls which carry all-local real ales, judiciously chosen, fastidiously kept and a pleasure to sup; a good selection of whiskies to warm and revive every palate; regular live music sessions of all varieties; the most eclectic jukebox in Northumberland; and most important of all, a friendly, laid-back environment full of good crack and camaraderie. A good old-fashioned English pub, and a pleasant spot to while away an evening…

There are some great pubs in Alnwick but this is definitely the best in the area, a superb and changing collection of real ales, some classic whiskies and a kickin' juke. Add to that friendly staff and you've got the perfect and dog friendly boozer. Staff made us feel very welcome all through the holiday, can't recommend this place enough... More

Worth finding if you like your real ale - 4 locally sourced beers kept exceptionally at reasonable prices - not a gastro - just an ordinary pub with bar snacks and slate floor!

Good atmosphere and good selection of well kept local beers. Just the one bar and a little bit quirky - well worth a visit.

Quaint and friendly. Only been once but would love to go back soon when next in Alnwick. Dog friendly too. Highly recommended

This is a gem of a pub, a single room bar with seating around the walls and a log burner in the ingle nook fireplace. It serves real ales, real ciders, lagers a selection of bottled beers, malt whiskies and wine, it is the best place to drink in Alnwick. The locals (as is the case in all of Northumberland)... More

worth going in to say you've been. not the biggest of places but if you're lucky enough to get a seat they have a fine selection of local ales, great cosy atmosphere and an awesome duke box selection.

Popped in for an hour when passing. Busy place with live music. Good beer - a few guest beers and a great gantry - single malts - well priced. Really engaging bar staff and customers. Best pub I've found in ages. Thoroughly recommended.

This is a fantastic pub, great beer and so welcoming. A very unusual bar in it's decor but I liked it. When we come back to Alnwick this is where we will head. I had 5 different ales there and everyone was superb.
