There's no place on earth I'd rather be

I love Filey and I love Filey beach; it really is stunning. If I could offer you only one tip? buy a windbreak.

you have too see it in person to really appreciate the difference from the towering chalk cliffs of Flamborough head at one end to the Brig at the other

Filey beach - miles and miles of unspoilt pristine sand, to the north Filey Brigg, to the south Bempton Cliffs. For the most part gloriously empty, heaven for dogs. And all for free!!

Visited this beach in March 2015 on a lovely sunny (but cold) morning. Perfect walk with the children, looking at the rock pools and stones/shells. Kids loved it

Wow what a beach. Huge expanse of a space with plenty of room for the kids to run around. Quaint seafront/promenade thats not full of the usual tacky amusements or tat shops. Just can't work out why you're not allowed to eat ice creams outside at least 2 of the cafes on the front???

Clean and tided. Plenty of parking if early. No dogs allowed on beach. A nice sun trap in the right weather

Cobles landing with their catches of fish. Horses cantering along the huge stretch of sand early in the morning

This year is our third visit to Filey and can't fault it. Lovely clean beach friendly people and my three year grandson loves it. Seafront is so clean and the parks beautifully kept.

Filey really is a gem of a resort on the Yorks East Coast. One of the cleanest resorts I have ever visited. Spotless pavements & roads, no graffiti and no rowdy visitors. The 7 mile beach is likewise immaculate. Not commercialised like its neighbours Scarborough & Whitby. Plenty of walks with loads of benches. Only a few restaurants & pubs... More
