Great place to stretch the legs and admire superb views across Thanet and towards Canterbury. Easy parking, quite hilly, but no strenuous if taken at a steady pace. Lots of different routes. Not good for bikes as quite 'rocky'. Very windy so great for kite flying...our personal highlight.

So glad we made the effort to find this lovely area as it is perfect for dog walking. A lovely mixture of green pasture and woodland. It is steep in places and some parts were very muddy following heavy rain for a couple of days so wellies required in the winter. The views at the top were fantastic and there... More

Honestly, I had been living in Whitstable (two roads away from Duncan Down) for 5 months before I even knew it existed! Despite the size, it is so easy to walk or drive straight past "the largest village green in the UK" but it's definitely worth finding, with a mix of trees, hedgerows and beautifully maintained pathways. Lovely place to... More

Apparently it's the largest village green in the country, regardless, every time I visit these parts I tend to head up to 'Duncan Down' for a walk as it's just beautiful.

Needs a proper map so one can see where to access it from. Also, great for dog walkers but what about mums with babies/ toddlers? Can it be accessed with a pram? If you don't have a garden and need some open green space without cars, this sounds perfect. But is it suitable? Can anyone help?

Well done the people of Whitstable, have you done the right thing in not over publicising this open space? Possibly but we nearly didn't get to experience it and that would have been a pity. Quiet and peaceful yet near to the town, railway and a major road system. Mind you I think the unmade roads in the vicinity must... More

Acres of woodland and open space. The dogs love it. Maintained by friends of Duncan downs who do a marvellous job. Shame not all dog owners pick up after their dogs.
