On October 18th, we stopped at the Whitstable Brewery Bar for a late lunch on our drive from Heathrow Airport to Sandwich. As a great part of our vacation was to be spent in the south of England, we were looking forward to feasting on seafood this trip. The restaurant was closed for a wedding but the bar on the... More

Anyone who likes whitstable will know this spot facing the sunset , nearly, and will tell you that on a warm evening sitting at the Brewery bar's beach front is charming. So why would you open this palace of filth to serve huge sloppy oysters and ex-frozen shrimps, with some people who look as if they haven't washed their hair... More

Food smelt good. We ordered a pizza, waited ages .... when it eventually turned up, it was burnt round edges and had hardly any toppings. Table wasn't particularly clean nor was the overall bar itself. Wouldn't eat there again.

.. After being drawn in by the location, the buzz and the aroma of cooking pizza, we thought this would be ideal for our lunch. Keen to try the local seafood, we ordered the fruits de mere. After well over an hour, 3 prompts from us, and serving customers who came in much later, it finally arrived. We were quite... More

We went for a walk along the beach and couldn't resist the setting and aromas coming from the open plan kitchen. I'm glad we gave it a try, my life enjoyed her crab and the location is superb. Sadly I didn't get what I ordered, and the Pizza wasn't anywhere near as nice as say a typical Pizza Express offering.... More

You take a chance here. If the manager is there, it is more organised. If she isn't the expect long waits and below par food. Twice we've had raw pizzas and garlic bread - uncooked and liquid sloppy toppings. Last set if pizzas were very small ( half size of first set we had). I also ordered a pint of... More

What a lovely spot in the sunshine and great decor with plenty of space but the staff need training- very amateurish though pleasant, clearly struggling to cope and there was no atmosphere/ no ambient music and such a shame as it a brilliant spot. Lots of hungry people but service was slow, salad was wilted, wine was in plastic cups... More

Beautiful location right on the beach with the sun shining what a great place for some seafood, how wrong could I be!! From a selection of about 10 things on the non pizza menu there were no prawns, no crab, and no oysters all basic staples for a seafood restaurant in Whitstable? Dirt table and collect your own cutlery which... More

Had a great lunch in here, 6 oysters followed by half a lobster. The beer was different but hit the spot. Great service and reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.

This bar is all about location and beer. Beyond that you pays your money and you takes your chance because the staff know they are on a winner so if you want to be fawned over - don't come here!
