There aren't many pubs I have visited which are right on the beach. Just a stone's throw away from the busy high street and seafront restaurants is this great place to stop and have a pint. One half of the pub is the bar and stools along it and the other a casual restaurant overlooking the sea and the beach.

A walk along the sea shore taking advantage of the mild evening led us to the old Neptune prominently situated by the sea. Stopping by we were lured in with the sounds emanating from inside. A great two piece band ( Tom Palmer and Steve Jackson) put on a great show which made for a very enjoyable night out. A... More

I always have a beer in this pub when visiting Whitstable. Took 2 of my daughters and son in laws to Whitstable for a weekend break, there first visit. After a meal in town walked to the old Neptune for a nightcap. There was a great atmosphere in the pub and a band about to start, the band Green Diesel... More

Liked this place for its character, busy, lively and with a bit of movie history thrown in. Gorgeous location, sea, sailing boats and a pebbly beach. Good old style pub experience, I felt right at home and comfortable in here. Will be back if I am in the area.

We always walk along the beach from Alberta Caravan Park in Seasalter to Whitstable and without fail make a pitstop at this pub. Always a warm, friendly welcome

Had a night out In whitstable with the in laws, had a few beers in Margate then ended up here after a meal in the countryside somewhere,so already well lubricated we entered a packed Neptune, was a bit worried as it was packed, but the band started playing one step beyond and I New it would be a good night!plenty of dancing and... Good location on sea front with outdoor area when weather permits. Bit awkward to get to with lots of steps. Plastic glasses for outside are sensible: beer, service. prices etc were all average

Lovely little pub right on the beach. Best for a drink out in their large beer garden aka beach to watch the superb sunsets seen most evenings. Later on seemed to be full of local drunks and live music at weekends - which combined was an assault on the senses.

This is a great traditional pub with spectacular views over the sea and great friendly staff, always busy but well worth the squeeze and with good local live music
