Hiking along the line. You can get off at each station and you will find marked routes to get to the next railway station

A party of four went on the KESR fish and chip supper. We have really enjoyed pullman dining on the steam train before. This was a diesel train with 1940s carriages. The organization was a little chaotic, however these are volunteers and this trip helps to raise money to keep the line open, so this is understandable. There where about... More

A great day out that throws you back in time... I recommend 1. Parking for free at Tenderdon Station 2. Look for the "special" weekends - we were there with Wallace & Gromit 3. Consider booking a "cream tea" on one of the legs of the journey 4. Travel First Class on one of the legs - we had our... More

We had a short trip on the K&ESR, and were impressed by the friendliness of the staff and by the views from the train. Bodiam Castle is a fairytale castle, and emerges from the trees as one approaches Bodiam Station. We were surprised to find, at the end of our journey, that the engine-driver was a friend from work!

We hadn't been to the KESR for more than fifteen years but spent Sunday morning turning back the clock to the days of steam and light railways by a trip from Tenterden to Bodiam and back. Fantastic and truly fully accesible - my wife uses a wheelchair and we travelled in the specially designed coach with not only has a... More

We took the train to Bodium Castle. Parking at Tenterden railway station was free. Refreshments were a little bit pricey but we both enjoyed a drink on the train. This is s well kept attraction which we found enjoyable. Nice countryside view with oast houses.

The best way to get to Bodiam Castle but a great experience in its own right. The train travels slowly for an hour through attractive scenery and a couple of stations. Tenterden station is well presented as a light railway station might have been in the 1950s. Combining the two attractions is a great day out.

Great staff. Nothing too much trouble. We were there, unintentionally, for the WWI weekend. Stopped and had a good cup of tea at NT Bodium Castle. Unable to fault anything. Park at the station, free.

If you want a bit of nostalgia or never ridden the great steam train this trip is a must. All run by enthusiastic volunteers makes the trip more exciting. At the other end from Tenterden is the beautiful Bodiam Castle. What a delightful & historic day out.

took the train to visit Bodiam Castle. It took around 1 hour to get there and the train goes through beautiful countryside. Very friendly staff, shop and tea room. Loved it, would return.
