We were given this dining experience by friends and neighbours to celebrate my husbands birthday. The train is wonderful and the stewards are friendly, welcoming and highly entertaining! Everyone serving us all had other 'day jobs' and obviously do this as an impassioned hobby! The Sunday 3 course roast dinner was good - the soup was excellent. This was the... More

I was a little disappointed with our visit to the railway. The distance travelled didn't seem far but it seemed to take forever mainly because of the time we were stationary. I took my 2 year old grandson who loves steam engines, thanks Thomas, and he enjoyed himself thoroughly so the day was worthwhile but I doubt we will be... More

Thank you for your review. I am sorry you were disappointed. The line is 10.5 miles long and so at 25mph, with station stops and loco watering , it does take a while. A round trip is normally just under 2 hours if one starts at Tenterden and a little more if the trip starts at Bodiam, due to crew... More

This steam train driving experience was a Christmas present for my husband and boy - did he love it! He has driven steam trains before but this experience was exceptional. The volunteer staff were so friendly and such fun and he had a real hands-on drive including "buffering" up to the 20 ton brake van. This he did with precision... More

This was a great fun family day out to an old fashioned steam railway. Entry not cheap but so much to do, it became really good value. Seeing Thomas arrive, travelling in old fashioned carriages and meeting the Fat Controller plus a clown and merrygoround. Great! Not too happy with Punch & Judy - bit violent by today's standards -... More

Thank you for your review. I am glad you enjoyed your trip in September. Thomas is back for the next 2 weeks - March 15/16 22/23 2014 I am sorry if Punch & Judy is a bit scary! I am told by the puppeteer that "That's the way to do it." :) It is a traditional entertainment and show and... More

Great day out especially with small children. The Thomas the Tank day is lovely and the Santa Express. Many happy memories of visiting when children were small.

I visited and travelled upon the Santa Specials on Kent and East Sussex Railway and was amazed by the excellence of the Sana Specials. I have visited more than one railway doing santa specials and I must say that this was the best experience I have had for a long time. Staff were absoloutly brilliant. I only have one remark... More

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad you enjoyed your visit. Our mainly volunteer staff work hard to ensure our Santa Specials are a truly memorable experience for all the family. I am sorry about the car park, we normally have that staffed on big event days but could not achieve that on the day of your visit. May... More

We booked a carriage for our family and some friends as we have done for 3 years in a row now and we found every second just as special as previous visits. The train is comfy and fun for the children, the carriages are great if you can get one to yourself with family and friends rather than the big... More
