We took advantage of the offer to senior citizens for an all day rover ticket costing £10. We started our journey at Bodiam. As we are NT members we were able to park our car for free at Bodiam Castle. Seats were limited because of the number of people on the train from Tenterden. Still it was good to see... More

This interesting old line served the hop-picking fraternity in the past, and is yet another good example of what enthusiasts can do with the cast-offs from the hey-days of steam and DMUs. It was great to ride again in a DMU (sadly lacking some TLC to its livery), and to be hauled by a Hunslet saddle-tank on the outward journey... More

23 members from our social club went on a great day out to Tenterden Railway. We took the steam train to Bodiam Castle and spent some time looking around there. Then caught the train back and had a cream tea on the train. White table cloths and lovely scones with clotted cream. We all had a smashing time. Big congratulations... More

What the visitor can access is very nicely done, and the 11 mile trip is very pleasant, but the lack of access to the stock of locomotives and rolling stock is a real let-down. Yes, the primary purpose of most casual visitors is to ride a steam-hauled train, but for those wanting to learn more about the collection, and to... More

A fun day out with a nostalgic feel. A ride on a steam train followed by a walk to a National Trust property (Bodium Castle), followed by a return trip to Tenterden. Perfect!

The restaurant served us the most excellent lunch. Simple fayre, fabulously cooked and presented. The train ride was great fun, with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and wildlife. Sitting in first class was the ultimate in comfort. Thank you to all for a lovely visit.

What a lovely way to travel through the countryside. I was given membership for my birthday of the wonderful K&ESR and throughly enjoyed the steam trip. All the volunteers deserve a huge pat on the back for the way they look after everything that makes this railway perfect.

This was a joy from start to finish with great homemade food, lovely wines and friendly service with the added bonus of great scenery. A credit to K&ESR.

We had a 70 Birthday evening Diner with all guest asked to arrive in evening suites and gowns . At 7 PM we had drinks and then called to the train so the train could leave at 8 PM prompt. Drinks and starters of salmon then the main of beef or turkey plus vegetables this took the time till we... More

Well at least if you are of a certain age -- the smell of oil and the sulphorus smell of coal smoke travelling in an old corridor carriage that we always had on a long trip to the summer holiday destination many visitors seem to enter into the spirit by dressing appropriately and there are a number of special theme...
