Part of my 60th Birthday treat would have been a trip on the Tenterden railway. Unfortunately to our shock the cost would have been £68 and on a diesel train not steam. My friends had already paid for a meal locally, so I could not ask them for a contribution. I'm convinced that if the cost was £10 per person... More

We had a chance to take this train last week to Bodiam Castle. The train station is quaint and charming as well as the train. You feel like you have Time traveled and are in Victorian times. The conductors are friendly and knowledgeable. The final destination is a short walk away from Bodiam Castle.

Absolutely fantastic! We paid £77 each for the full Saturday evening experience which was worth every penny. We lost track of how many courses there were but we were still eating when we pulled in back at tenterden at 11.20. A very memorable evening but what touched us the most was the volunteers who work so tirelessly for their passion... More

What do you do on a wet day in kent? Hop on a steam train! The journey time made up for the fairly steep price. Lovely country views including Bodiam castle filled up the time on the lengthy track. Food places could be found on the stops along the way. Enjoyed the experience enough to go on this again when... More

I came here for the first time with my partner and two friends. I am interested in heritage railways and was expecting to be impressed but was amazed by what the KESR offers, not least the Col. Stephen's Museum. Those I came with were equally impressed. The Museum is crammed with information about Col. Stephens, his family and the railway's... More

I love this railway and with the prospects of a main line connection at Robertsbridge at some point in the future, this line has a lot going for it. From Tenterden to Bodiam there's plenty to see and do at either end of the line and whilst your on the train your sure of a great day out!

amazing experience all set in the 1900's. There were guards on the trains that were always looking for little helpers! Beautiful scenery as you meander through the Kent and East Sussex countryside with lots of old crossing left there. It was all about 1900's to the 1960's. Amazing all the way through our train ride it was all amazing! a... More

Fun, interesting and a great child pleaser!!! Birthday treat for my 6 year old, who loved it...along with his 5 year old sister who was equally enchanted. We boarded at Tenterden ( free parking, onsite train museum, cafe, and various different operational trains and carriages to look at). Loved the smell of the steam engine smoke, very atmospheric and the... More
