Driving towards the Turner Contemporary we were disappointed by the building's design but as we walked towards it we changed our view. Apparently built with steel, the white structure sits overlooking the harbour apparently on the site of the boarding house Turner used to stay. It's a great space, currently exhibiting a great installation of cymbals which visitors can hit... More

The Turner Contemporary is a chance to sample some world class art pieces in a building which itself is worthy of close attention - and it's free! Now we all have different tastes when it comes to what we think is a good painting, and, if you are like me, then you will quickly decide those paintings you like -... More

Waste of space and time on many different levels. We only live 20 minutes away but not worth the trip. Is there another gallery of the same name? I think some of the other reviewers must have been somewhere else. Monstrous building that has ruined the sea view uunless you're inside it - Turner would have been appalled.

We were fortunate enough to coincide with the Van Dyck self portrait exhibition - it was wonderful....... and there weren't too many people which is definitely a plus!

Crowded and unappealing gallery. The current works on show were boring and not at all likeable. As I said, the best thing about the gallery was the large window overlooking the sea. Cafe was really packed and the prices were far too expensive.

Wonderful place - free but you simply must make a contribution. We did a free tour (free!) which was excellent

A great space with lots of room to move around and appreciate the works; incredibly friendly staff and the blend of "interesting things for kids" (for which mine were a bit old, but it meant that there were lots of families enjoying themselves on a Sunday) and serious stuff for adults. The view of the sea was great, the lighting... More

Great museum, a joy to walk around. Lovely café on site, and the shop has really interesting merchandise.

Lovely gallery overlooking sea. Visited while the self potrait exhibition was on. I'm sure Mr Turner himself would have enjoyed it.
