The cafe at the Turner Centre is lovely and the all day breakfast is a must; but the art on show is 'challenging' at times

What a complete waste of time..Margate is hardly a must see place and this has the potential to draw people in. I went yesterday with my daughter and two small grand daughters. I really don't know why it bothered to open. There were a few photos to look at and a wall of portraits painted by the same woman. There... More

Have visited the Turner contempory several times when popping back to my old home town from Wales. I am not an art lover as such but it gave me great joy and education of what contempory art is. A large reception and exhibit area as you enter followed by a restaurant and lift to the upper gallery's . Every visit... More

The huge light and airy Turner Contemporary is a great place for everyone to visit, the art on exhibit notion is explained well, there was an exhibition of work submitted by school students attending Thanet schools. Some exquisite small Turner pieces and a great deal to recommend it

Located in a beautiful harbor side spot and captures the light perfectly. A small and eclectic collection which makes for a pleasing sojourn.

This is a spacious modern art gallery by the harbour with lockers, a cafe and gift and bookshop on the ground floor and exhibitions above. It is absolutely free, and the current Jeremy Deller exhibition is fascinating and thought provoking. A great asset to Margate.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon in January. the weather outside was not good so the gallery provided a good alternative. The staff were very helpful and admission is free (donations welcomed). It was not really my cup of tea but it was interesting. We also made use of the attached cafe which was good.

So good to find a place that is genuinely and properly FREE - and proud to be so. A fascinating group of exhibitions in a building that greets you with a massive panoramic sea view window that gives a view like an ever-changing Turner painting. Really helpful staff who are rightly proud of the place and it's free entry. We... More

After all the hype we were expecting more to see. We were glad we did not make a special trip but chose to visit in the morning after seeing the New Year in at Sands Hotel, Margate.
