Really good experience, fab views of the sea from inside, good range exhibitions and nothing too stretching. Parking is OK.

Quite a sterile building with that ikea concrete feel about it. Nice sea views from the big windows. Liked the room with art by kids, although little provided to engage kids when we were there other than some crayons and A4 paper by the main entrance. I mean beefeater, pizza express, cafe rouge and any high street caterer are more... More

We came for a special exhibition, which was excellent, but we also loved the building, especially the changing views of the sea through a huge window. Good display spaces, and a small shop. We enjoyed the outside seating, too, for ice creams and snacks from the cafe.

Think Tate or Saatchi by the sea - with the sort of family activities served up by the Tate. Worth the trip to Margate, then eat at Rickus on the sea front.

We love Grayson Perry and went to see his Provincial Punk Exhibition in Margate. It was good, we had seen a lot of it elsewhere but it was nice to see some of the exhibits again. We found the very early stuff which we hadn't seen before interesting. The exhibits could have been curated better. The pottery room was badly... More

We visited Margate this weekend because we wanted to see a specific exhibition at the Turner Contemporary. The architecture of the gallery is good with beautifully framed views over the North Sea. Also, the pride of local people in their town and artistic heritage is heart warming. Evenstill there was something a bit ' artsy ' and inaccessible about the... More

We were drawn to see the wonderful Grayson Perry exhibition at the Gallery. Amazing building with fantastic views and a whole range of activities for all ages to enjoy. Definitely worth a visit.

Had a great time, it was our 3rd visit and we went specially to see the Grayson Perry exhibit. The only downside was we weren't aware there was a guide sheet for the exhibition as we must have been blind walking in. There were curators there but being British I didn't like to ask: you would have thought they would... More

I often come here with my little girl. She loves the Sunday workshops which are free for locals. She also loves walking around the galleries. The majority of the time the exhibitions are very good and it is lovely to have this in Margate.

This was our third visit to the Turner & each time we have been impressed with the exhibitions. The Mondrian was exceptional & Grayson Perry's Provincial Punk expo impresses too. The expo provides a survey of his career to date- drawings, pottery, tapestry, film ... The gallery space is cleverly designed to make the most of the light. With Dreamlands... More
