Lovely theatre

Such a lovely old theatre. Staff were helpful and the seats werent bad considering its an old theatre. We did buy drinks from the bar and they were quite reasonable in price.

We see many shows here on a regular basis. It is a very up close and personal theatre which makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Lots of well known comedians now come to the theatre as well as shows for the family and adults alike.

This is a stunning building , very old and really gives one a feel of times past. Maybe not as comfortable as some but worth it for the experience. Seems to have a good variety of shows including pantos at Christmas. Margate is now The Place to visit and this theatre is a must

Visited the theatre this week to see my son in a production that he was part of. The staff were helpful and let my friend and i put our travel bags in a secure room. The building is beautiful and the staff are understandably proud of it and are pleased to show it off. The Inclusive Drama Group put on... More

This was only my second visit to the Theatre Royal in Margate and I was reminded of what an absolute gem of a venue this is. I called in the day before, just to check out ticket availability (for Al Murray) and found the Box Office staff to be excellent. They identified a couple of tickets with excellent views and... Totally blown away by this amazing performance. The Countess particularly was absolutely brilliant and pianist with his dual role got my vote. Theatre scruffy from outside small and beautiful inside. How come arts council don't spend a bit of money to tart it up?

This tiny theatre in the centre of Margate is a joy to visit. It is the second oldest working theatre in the country and is beautiful inside. The outside is somewhat off- putting, but just walk in and you will receive a warm and friendly welcome. We saw the Globe production of Romeo and Juliette here and the setting and... More

Went yet again..this time to see Steeleye Span. Excellent concert. It's virtually impossible to get a bad seat and the sound is excellent too. An added bonus was that the band came round at the end so you could speak to them or take photos

I enjoy the Theatre Royal in Margate - it is old fashioned, charming and cosy. A proper Old Theatre and obviously well loved. I also enjoy Count Arthur Strong - on the radio. I should have known better, as the tellybox series did not grab me either. On the radio the flights of fantasy and obscure and belly-laughing tongue-trips and... More
