Hever Castle is an important historic castle on the English landscape, and was once the family home of one of England's most famous Queens - Anne Boleyn, the intriguing second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I. The castle is a romantic double moated 13th century castle which houses historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or Castle Entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn's Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the Head Gardener and his team. Family fun include Jousting Tournaments each summer and is one of our most popular events.

I didn't know what to expect, but it was fantastic! I think it's my new favourite castle, and I've been to a few! Beautiful rooms, very well decorated and maintained. Interesting and informative information in each room. The staff are very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. The young guy in the long room at the top of the castle knew so... More

Revisited Hever after many years and the experience was just as enjoyable as I remembered. There is a great deal to see and take in as the house, grounds and lake are impressive. The estate sports much history from medieval times to the present with a lot of artefacts, documentation and images. The relatively recent addition of the the holiday... More

This is a great day out. We visited just before the Christmas event. You can book for either the garden alone or the castle and garden. We booked for both and I was very pleased we do. I consider the entry price very reasonable for what you get. The castle itself is well preserved and there are a lot of... More

I have wanted to visit Hever Castle since I was a child and at least had the chance to travel down from Yorkshire. What an amazing place and well worth the wait. It is a pleasure to approach the castle through beautiful grounds (even in the rain) and the interior is stunning. It was amazing to see the place where... More

Hever is a mid-sized castle/stately home with lovely grounds and some amazing history - the restaurant has some tasty and healthy options and the adventure playground is in-keeping with the setting. The topiary was also amazing... especially the pig!

Hever has very attractive grounds with a lake gardens, maze and a moat round the castle. The castle itself is very interesting and historic. When we visited it was halloween and there was a lovely trail for children around the garden and beautiful displays featuring pumpkins

Such beauty! Such history! Your walk through the gorgeous gardens is amazing. So much beauty tended with love. The bushes trimmed into eye catching shapes; the flowers were beautiful even though we visited in September when their summer splendor was over. The tranquility of the lake with the ducks swimming along, and then - the lovely castle itself. Absolutely Tudor.... More

There was no guided tour but an audio tour was available although not strictly necessary. This is a very historic building and was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. The tour does involve climbing some steep and winding stairs.
