Opening hours: 10:30am - 6:00pm daily (final entry 4:30pm). Hever Castle is an important historic castle on the English landscape, and was once the family home of one of England's most famous Queens - Anne Boleyn, the intriguing second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I. The castle is a romantic double moated 13th century castle which houses historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or Castle Entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn's Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the Head Gardener and his team. Family fun include Jousting Tournaments each summer and is one of our most popular events.

We love this castle and grounds and go as a family with young children and teenagers. The water maze being the children's favourite attraction is great (remember to take a spare pair of shoes and swim gear or a change of clothes) and brings all the age groups together. The castle itself is a manageable size for the little ones... More

Soent a lovely afternoon at Hever Castle and thd gorgeous surrounding gardens. The castle is magnificently preserved and it looked like a proper castle with it's turrets and mote. What surprised me was how cozy it felt inside. It is an informative insight into Bolyn family and Tudors. So glad I went.

Outstanding day out, the castle is interesting, staff friendly and very knowledgable - some parts of the castle may be difficult for those with limited mobility. Gardens are beautiful and the lake was so much fun we took out a peddle boat and laughed the entire time. Very relaxed day, lots of people but didn't feel busy. Looking forward to... More

We spent all day here, strolling around the beautiful gardens, admiring the roses, taking a trip on the lake in the delightful little steam boat. The castle iitself, the home of Anne Boleyn!, is also well worth a visit. The restaurant is also good, plenty to choose from and tables outside in the summer.

The castle and grounds are beautiful and make a for a lovely walk. The castle is very well maintained and there is quite a lot to see. There are various places to eat serving hot food, sandwiches and snacks and amazing cakes and ice creams! There are areas suitable for disabled parking and accessibility is good throughout the grounds bar... More

My family stopped here for it's historical value. I bought the tickets in advanced online 3 days prior to our trip. Somehow I had the date confused and purchased tickets for the day after our actual visit. To my relief the ticket booth still accepted my purchase for the current day. My assumption was Anne Boleyn’s Home would be a... More

The gardens are beautiful and worth a visit for them alone but the castle, beautiful as it is, focuses on the Astors rather than the Boleyns. Would have preferred to see how the Tudors lived rather than rich Americans. The historical displays hit the mark but the room displays are not in the Tudor period. Catering is ok given the... More

We really enjoyed the fantastic Italian Gardens, the 3 different styled mazes and the castle tour but were surprised by the last room we visited which was a homage to torture and beheading - a little disconcerting but didn't spoil the day as Anne Bolyne is best known for her unfortunate demise!

The former childhood home of the later wife of Henry VIII AnNe Boleyn (which is very present) is a wonderful fairytale castle which you can also explore with kids. You can also learn about the later history of the castle under the Astor family and one day is well filled if you like to explore the garden, the lake and... More
