The castle is a romantic double moated 13th century castle which houses historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or Castle Entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn’s Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the Head Gardener and his team. Family fun include Jousting Tournaments each summer and is one of our most popular events; visit our website for up to date information on events, prices and opening times. « less

Recently, fulfilling a life-long dream to visit Kent and Hever Castle in particular, I was dumbstruck when, on having reached the long gallery, on the top floor with the help of my allowed assistant and a walking aid, I was taken aside by an officious steward and told that I should not have made it up there as I was... Tucked away in a tiny Kent village is this beautiful example of a medieval castle - not rugged and domineering - stylish - elegant and bijoux! Amazing that Henry VII courted Anne Boleyn here! There is a lot to see in the castle and its extensive garden! Read up before you arrive and try and imagine yourself right there in... More

We visited Hever with 2 disabled dogs. Finding anywhere dog friendly is hard enough but finding somewhere to go with disabled dogs is virtually impossible. We had a wonderful day! Mainly thanks to all the staff who bent over backwards to be helpful. This really is an example of a beautifully maintained gem that has been made accessible to everybody.... More

We visited Leeds Castle on this holiday as well, which billed itself as the loveliest castle, but it didn't come near Hever for it's beauty. Hever has the most wonderful gardens which were very accessible and the castle itself was a real fairy tale looking building. Not a large castle, but that added to it's attractiveness. The rooms were full... More

Small castle set in wonderful grounds, you need a day to see it all. Two eating places that I could see, all fresh sandwiches and cakes for a snack, other meals available. There is a lake with rowing boats, but I think they are not used as they did not look very inviting. The Castle is full of wonderful artifacts,... More

I went to visit a castle I hadn't seen, and found myself loving the gardens (I've NEVER gone anywhere to look at gardens!). The weekend I went, there was a craft fair. I found myself appreciating quilts (among other things). The castle was very photogenic, and was very interesting. A few levels - lots to see inside. I'm glad we... More

Have been to this castle a few times, once when I was a teenager and a few times as an adult. Hever castle is such a beautiful place. Love the big lake. Will continue to go here for as long as possible.

The castle was very interesting and the grounds beautiful. They have made a lovely wedding venue overlooking the lake.
