The castle is a romantic double moated 13th century castle which houses historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or Castle Entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn’s Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the Head Gardener and his team. Family fun include Jousting Tournaments each summer and is one of our most popular events; visit our website for up to date information on events, prices and opening times. « less

My husband and I booked online to stay at the Astor Wing of Hever Castle for one night bed and breakfast. We were greeted at our car by a very friendly man who then gave us a tour and updated us on our accommodation and stay. Our room was amazing!!! It was the Acanthus room and did not disappoint. It... On Saturday 19th we decided to ignore our hunger pains since the food was supposed to be nice at Hever and there are 2 places to eat. When we arrived there was a small cue at the cafe near the entrance ( about 8 people in front of us) for the hot food lunch. We waited and waited and waited.....to....be... More

This place took my breath away. Just as you are admiring one area of the gardens, you enter another area which is even more breathtaking! The moated castle is beautiful from the outside (just what you imagine a medieval castle to look like) and the inside is loaded with historical items and information.

We were able to visit this beautiful castle and its gardens included as part of our stay in their hotel. What a marvelous experience. You have the opportunity to see free of charge the castle of course, opens at 12, but already in the morning, when all the grounds are still closed to public access, you can wonder around pretty... Beautiful decorated castle, with spectacular gardens, fountains and a big lake. A perfect location to spend a full day with the family. There are restaurant facilities to have a delicious lunch or an English tea, and you can take home one of your favourite roses from the garden shop.

Regular visitor to this castle and grounds and love walking my dog here. Wonderful in the autumn leaves. Alot of work maintenance on the grounds has taken place leaving clearer fantastic views of the lake whilst walking round.
