Owner description: 2 Jan – 13 Feb 2015 Hever Castle will be CLOSED. Hever Castle is an important historic castle on the English landscape, and was once the family home of one of England’s most famous Queens – Anne Boleyn, the intriguing second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I. The castle is a romantic double moated 13th century castle which houses historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or Castle Entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn’s Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the Head Gardener and his team. Family fun include Jousting Tournaments each summer and is one of our most popular events; visit our website for up to date information on events, prices and opening times.

This restaurant is set near the lake at Hever Castle and serves good food as well as refreshments. It is a pavillion with outside seating, clean and modern and also does private functions such as weddings. We had lunch which had a halloween theme which the children enjoyed, good quality food at an affordable price.

Recently visited Father Christmas at Hever Castle, The Father Christmas and surroundings were beautiful. The grotto was full of real trees with snow and we were guided by an elf who was brilliant with the children. Father Christmas was lovely and spent time talking to the children. The grotto was magical and the best I have seen in a long... More

I loved this castle outing, made so much more by the live re-enactment of Tudor times, being a summer Saturday. Re-enactments go on all over the country, even where little of the castle remains. This one was excellent value. After we had viewed the courtyard we waited on the other side of the draw-bridge for Henry the 8th to appear... More

Great castle with very interesting history. The rooms and displays are well laid out with interesting facts but not too much wordage. The gardens and lake walk are also lovely.

Hever Castle is an enjoyable yet slightly underwhelming perusal into Tudor history. The manor itself is an impressive building, but perhaps not as a big as you might expect. Whilst I can’t hold the size against what was undoubtedly a vast home by the standards of the 1600s, I can hold it against the owners billing it as a day’s... More

Enjoyed a lovely Christmassy evening walking round the grounds. The lights and nativity scenes were excellent and my daughters loved the camels and huskys. The Christmas trees in the castle were amazingly decorated. Ate at the restaurant and the food was good as was the service - thank you Lily. Would definitely come again next year.

We have annual passes and visit all the time. Great on school days as our young grandchildren are able to enjoy the playground. Last year we loved our visit to Santa. This year, not so good. Where was the carousel and all the 'Victorian ' stalls? The Santa trail was lost on our 4 and 2 year olds. A wise... More

We had a lovely morning at Hever Castle. We had been to Santa's Grotto before at Hever but there was no winter trail then. Having read some of the previous comments I would agree that the elves are a little odd but apart from that I thought it was quite well done. The only thing was that they clearly weren't... More
