Opening hours: 10:30am - 6:00pm daily (final entry 4:30pm). Hever Castle is an important historic castle on the English landscape, and was once the family home of one of England's most famous Queens - Anne Boleyn, the intriguing second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I. The castle is a romantic double moated 13th century castle which houses historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or Castle Entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn's Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the Head Gardener and his team. Family fun include Jousting Tournaments each summer and is one of our most popular events.

Besides some interesting history and famous previous owners/inhabitants, this castle offers beautiful and vast grounds which were actually the highlight for me, with a lot of colour in the shrubbery and flowers. They run special events at certain times of the year so check out the website before you go. A lovely piece of English heritage and very well run.... More

Great place to stroll and just enjoy the view and the atmosphere. Well maintained gardens with lovely flowers. Visited this place because I was fascinated by Anne Boleyn's story and wanted a glimpse of her life then. Worth a visit!

Went "luxury B & B" for the Bank Holiday weekend as recommended by a work colleague - just over an hour's drive from home and we had no idea just what the castle offered. One word really sums the weekend up - FABULOUS. From the moment we found the gate to the Astor Wing (the B & B wing) on... More

Hever Castle is privately owned and the fee is £16 to get in. Having said that, there are plenty of activities on the grounds and many small gardens that can be visited with good space for picnic and general day out. The Castle itself was owned by the Astor family, who acquired it in 1902 so there is a mixture... More

Having covered destinations such as Leeds Castle, Hampton Court and the other historic royal palaces in London, we had little expectations for Hever Castle. We had learned that it was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn and that the castle itself is not that large but otherwise knew little. Hever is very tucked away, with the approach to the castle... Somewhere ive wanted to visit for sometime, and I wasnt disappointed. Beautiful gardens, lovely historic building. Plenty of places to eat, although a little pricey, anyone with a family could take a picnic.

This is definitely a place to could come back to, time and time again! The castle itself is fascinating - steeped in history (although I would have like to have known more about Anne of Cleves' tenure) as the home of the Boleyn and Astor families. It's definitely worth taking the multi-media guide as it's entertaining as well as informative... More

Superb grounds, well tended, with lots of azaleas and wisteria. Lots of individual areas to walk round, plenty of seats to enjoy the gardens and views from. Pleasant stroll round the lake, too. Castle fascinating - recommend the audio guide - and takes up to an hour to see all. We stayed about 4 hours altogether, and thoroughly enjoyed it... More

just love this place it's so pretty and well kept. And dog friendly as well except in the castle itself. The gardens are stunning as is the lake. I could spend all day there just chilling. Superb
