Opening hours: Closed until 13 February. Hever Castle is an important historic castle on the English landscape, and was once the family home of one of England's most famous Queens - Anne Boleyn, the intriguing second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I. The castle is a romantic double moated 13th century castle which houses historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or Castle Entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn's Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the Head Gardener and his team. Family fun include Jousting Tournaments each summer and is one of our most popular events.

We visited Hever Castle for the Tudor weekend in June and had such a great time we upgraded our family day passes to an annual pass and it's been worth every penny. We've used it nearly every weekend since, there is loads to do at Hever Castle and gardens, the kids like the gardens, the play ground and the castle.... More

Have visited before in the summer about 10 years ago, but there's still plenty to do at this castle even in the winter. The castle is small but perfectly formed, with plenty to see and do. And the grounds are spectacular. Will definitely be back to visit in the summer.

Wow had a great time in the run up to Christmas. The Santa event and the lights where fantastic. Clearly a lot of work and money spent. Great place to visit.

As a history major and buff, I can’t get enough of the castles, palaces, gardens, chateaus of bygone days. Hever Castle is a very special place with spectacularly beautiful grounds, mazes, moats, knot gardens, lakes, miniatures, and of course the castle itself. A beautiful swan greeted us as we arrived. Evidently his kin had all been slaughtered by marauding wild... More

We are spoilt in Great Britain for historical magnificence and Hever Castle is up there with the best. Visited in sunny August for a picnic in the grounds (and the jousting) and again just after Christmas to see the Castle interior in all its Christmas splendour. What a delightful place.....I really must get a yearly ticket!

We visited the castle just after Christmas. It was absolutely beautiful. The amount of work that had gone into the Christmas decorating was amazing. All the rooms were decorated and warm, so pretty to look at. The long hall upstairs had at least 6 trees in it. The grounds were as beautifully decorated. We have just returned from living in... The home of the Boleyn family, the castle was painstakingly renovated by William Waldorf Astor in the early 1900s. A beautiful stop in Kent.
