The castle is a romantic double moated 13th century castle which houses historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or Castle Entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn’s Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the Head Gardener and his team. Family fun include Jousting Tournaments each summer and is one of our most popular events; visit our website for up to date information on events, prices and opening times. « less

We visited Hever Castle & Gardens on Good Friday for the first time and was very impressed. There was 3 adults and one 3 year old and there was something for everyone, we spent the day here doing an Easter Hunt, looking in the castle and enjoying the gardens. We got there early and went into the castle straight away... More

Loads to do especially with small children, loved the mazes and the beautiful grounds. The castle was gorgeous and just the right size with a small child. We took a picnic but the restaurant looked lovely.

We visited the castle and gardens on Monday 14th. April, so as to avoid the bank holiday crowds and reading the previous review we're so glad we did. Although it's a small castle there's a great deal to see because of the notoriety of its owners. You can easily spend a couple of hours inside, and I would recommend shelling... More

Went to the castle today and it was a big mistake. It was absolutely heaving, mostly with families with small children in pushchairs. Fine, they want to enjoy their bank holiday like the rest of us, but it meant that there was a long queue to get into the castle, and when you did get in progress around was very... More

We have just returned from a day out at Hever Castle - we didn't pay to go in the castle as we did not think our grandsons of 3 yrs and 6 yrs would enjoy that and so paid just for entry to enjoy the gardens. 2 seniors and one child = £30.70 (£5 extra for the castle). There is... More

First time to Hever Castle and was pleasantly surprised. Good value for money for both the grounds and castle. They had plenty to do and loads of entertainment. Enjoyed the Castle history and roaming through the rooms inside, you could choose to have the audio, but there was enough text description to inform you have what the room was used... More

A great day out at Hever Castle, with plenty to do for the children, while the parents explore the gardens. I was especially surprised at the quaility of the meal we had, which was reasonably priced.

A wonderful place to visit for people of all ages. There were many activities for children to do. When we visited there was not a cloud in the sky so we saw the magnificent gardens in all their glory. We especially loved the Itallian garden for its symmetry and statues. When we went inside the castle we were amazed by... More

Allow yourself the whole day to visit this beautiful castle and gardens and the Guthrie Pavilion was a great choice for lunch. The castle itself was one of the most atmospheric that I have been in for a long while - I would have loved to have seen more! The grounds - stunning, so many things to see and notice.... More

Wonderful place to get lost. The castle is lovely and would recommend the audio tour. The grounds are stunning - pick a warmish day, pack a picnic and enjoy the gardens.
