Opening hours: 10:30am - 6:00pm daily (final entry 4:30pm). Hever Castle is an important historic castle on the English landscape, and was once the family home of one of England's most famous Queens - Anne Boleyn, the intriguing second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I. The castle is a romantic double moated 13th century castle which houses historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or Castle Entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn's Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the Head Gardener and his team. Family fun include Jousting Tournaments each summer and is one of our most popular events.

Delightful setting and such an intimate small castle. We visited on a horrible wet day, so the gardens were a no-no. What a pity they don't offer extra visits included in the price, like Blenheim does for a year, also the Royal Collection Palace visits. We would love to return to look at the gardens this time, but are reluctant... More

Something wonderful for the Tudor history lover, and more. The home of Ann Bolyne and later that of Anne of Cleves, given to her by Henry Viii. Less castle and more moated stately home, Hever is a fascinating peek at two eras: the medieval/Renaissance and the early 20th century when American William Waldorf Astor bought and refurbished it. Equally beautiful... More

I live quite locally and have an annual pass so take my 5 year old regularly. Whether it's a day out with friends or a few hours for a play and picnic we always have a lovely time. The gardens are beautiful and the water maze is great on a hot day

An absolute must to visit the childhood home of Anne Boleyn . The gardens are spectacular and expansive. You can try rowing on the lake or take the more leisurely steam boat (extra charge) . Food facilities are clean and relatively good value for an attraction offering snacks and meals . Toilet facilities were spotless. Fascinating history of the castle... More

The castle is in great condition and is kept very well. The gardens and surrounding land is stunning. Lots of fun for children with the mazes and boating on the lake. The food and drink was expensive.

Just brilliant - combines the Anne Boleyn story with the more recent 19th century history. Fabulous grounds, always seems to be something going on. Most definitely a great attraction.

Although I have a family link, I have never been to Hever Castle, but I shall certainly go again. We arrived midafternoon, just missing - our fault - the jousting display. But that left us more time to walk through the lovely gardens, gaze over the romantic lake and then cross the drawbridge to go through the castle, with its... More

Having been recommended to visit Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, we were excited at the prospect of seeing a beautiful heritage sight as we do enjoy our historical homes. We arrived early, parking was well sign posted and easy to find a space. Waiting at the gate it became quite busy, and upon entering we realised we... More

We are saddened to hear of the experience you had with our food service. We are also extremely disappointed, having read the positive aspects of your visit, that this caused you to cut your day short and it ruined an otherwise lovely day. The negative impact that the service had on your visit is not acceptable and is something that... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Hever Castle which is a place I have wanted to go to since I was a child. It was lovely to see so many people there and families enjoying a day out. The grounds are beautiful and, as would be expected, the castle is overloaded with history. There is plenty to read and absorb... More
