Owner description: Hever Castle is an important historic castle on the English landscape, and was once the family home of one of England’s most famous Queens – Anne Boleyn, the intriguing second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I. The castle is a romantic double moated 13th century castle which houses historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or Castle Entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn’s Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the Head Gardener and his team. Family fun include Jousting Tournaments each summer and is one of our most popular events; visit our website for up to date information on events, prices and opening times.

Really interesting place to visit. Lots to see and good facilities for all given limits of such an old building. Grounds and gardens are very attractive and staff make a good effort to make all feel welcome. A real must for any historian buff.

Hever Castle is an absolute delight. It is set in its own private valley with extensive and wonderful gardens to truly enjoy. The house is full of interest and a credit to the Astor family who brought it back to its full glory in the 1900s. You can just feel all the history in every room and imagine what it... More

Very interesting history. The stay in the Luxury bed and breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. Wireless internet was fine, parking excellent, staff were sooooo accommodating. Can't fault our stay one bit. Heated flooring. Disability facilities for my wife were excellent, breakfast was served with a wonderful smile and was excellent.

What do we three have in common? A love of Hever Castle. It was Anne's childhood home where a smitten Henry VIII pursued her, and Dame Judi often enjoys the beautiful gardens with her family. As for me, I've wanted to see it for as long as I can remember and finally got to spend a beautiful Spring day there... More

Hever Castle is a very unusual castle with several interesting rooms to visit. Anne of Cleves lived here. The grounds and gardens are beautifully kept and quite different to any other castle I have visited.

The castle is smaller than some I have been to (would highly recommend Warwick castle) but it is beautiful. The grounds it's set in is huge, stunning and immaculately maintained, don't forget your walking shoes.

Hever Castle looks extremely impressive from the outside surrounded as it is by its moat and adjacent mock Tudor guest quarters. Inside too, the castle is very interesting offering a lengthy walk through with opportunities to look at a variety of interesting Tudor paintings and furniture. It's not quite the authentic Tudor décor that you would expect but nonetheless, despite... More

This place is well over priced- need to look at price when you cant see half the grounds due to poor weather and the café area is a rip off.

Hi Honest172, we’re sorry to hear that you didn’t feel your day offered value for money as we don't want anyone going away from Hever Castle feeling unhappy. It would be good to know which day you visited and how bad the weather was on that day because even in poor weather the majority of our attractions are usually open... More

The staff made a great effort to make Hever fun for young and old alike but it was extensively decorated but tasteful! Disabled parking and wheelchair access were very easy to organise and we were able to visit the gardens easily but the castle is not wheelchair accessible as the corridors are too narrow for ease of access and there... We're happy to hear that your party all enjoyed their visit DREGS, and were able to find activities to suit all. Our team worked very hard to make sure everyone enjoyed Halloween, and we're delighted that their hard work paid off. Thank you for leaving a review. More
