Opening hours: 10:30am - 6:00pm daily (final entry 4:30pm). Hever Castle is an important historic castle on the English landscape, and was once the family home of one of England's most famous Queens - Anne Boleyn, the intriguing second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I. The castle is a romantic double moated 13th century castle which houses historic 16th century portraits, paintings, furniture, tapestries and treasures. Comprehensive information on the history of Hever Castle can be found in the guide book and audio tours are available from the Hever Shop, Visitor Centre or Castle Entrance. Visitors can explore the magnificent gardens for all seasons which include Italian, Rose and Tudor gardens, topiary, yew maze and splashing water maze, or take a stroll around the informal areas of Sunday Walk and Anne Boleyn's Walk. Hever hosts a number of special events throughout the season including gardening events with the Head Gardener and his team. Family fun include Jousting Tournaments each summer and is one of our most popular events.

Visited the castle and grounds today and it is simply stunning. The grounds are well maintained and there are hundreds of great photo opportunities.

W went on one of those beautiful and rare English sunny days. We loved the grounds. The gardens and grounds are beautiful and tranquil with very interesting bits and bobs. The grounds are enormous and we didn't get around the whole thing... Good excuse to go back. The "castle" itself is slightly disappointing. It's quite small and more of a... More

The weather was beautiful so that does help. I was amazed at the beauty of the place. The shop was on the expensive side but so are NT and EH shops.we ate in the cafe and had a brilliant sandwich as well as the rehydration drink which was quite unusual. The castle was fantastic but I really would have liked... More

Hever Castle is a stunningly beautiful little Castle, in the beautiful Kent countryside of England. It's such a quaint little Castle, but steeped in rich history. It was the family home of Anne Boleyn, second wife to King Henry VIII of England, and mother to arguably the most popular Monarch of England, Queen Elizabeth I. The Castle hosts a beautiful... More

Not quite sure what we were expecting. It came across as an interesting place to see but for me lacked atmosphere. It's main aim was to impress and evidence great wealth. It certainly did this and for the numerous bus loads of children visiting on the day they appeared to be enjoying the whole experience of Castle & Gardens.

People complain that historical attractions are expensive to visit and it's true that some sites are not worth the inflated entry charges. This can't be said of Hever Castle which is really good value for all that it offers. If at first the Castle and outbuildings appear a little chocolate box in their restored and manicured neatness, Hever manages to... More

Expensive to get in! Ok if your into your history. A large maze, playpark, and rowing lake on site. Expensive food and gift shop!

We're sorry that you felt your visit didn't represent value for money. We take a great deal of effort to benchmark our prices across the Estate with other similar venues to ensure that our prices are fair. We also offer an extensive range of attractions that are not history related, such as the ones you have mentioned and our extensive... More

I went here for a day trip and it is a stunning castle and gardens, steeped in history and lots to see and do. Excellent for the whole family, fantastic photo opportunities and a lovely cafe which serves both hot a cold meals. A must visit.
