a nice walk

a nice walk at sunset looking out at the end of the pier, the wartime forts and windmills. Follow this up with some fish and chips on the beach

Found out about Neptune's Arm by looking on TripAdvisor while staying in the area. Even though it was early in the year, we were lucky to get a nice, albeit windy, day. There was plenty of parking along the sea front and bonus of free parking for a couple of hours as we were out of season! The arm is... More

Gets very windy on the arm. A good half hour by the time you enjoy the spiral staircase on the end. Good for giving the kids a run or scooter. You can fish off here at high tide. Beware dog foulings tleft behind by knuckle dragging morons

Neptune's Arm is a part of the Harbour wall at Herne Bay, its a simple walk to get to the end of it, although quiet a reasonable length of walk, and is wheel chair accessible. At the end of the 'Arm' there is a small seating area which is usually very quiet and a nice place to sit and take... More

Good place to watch the sunset over Herne Bay. Only in good weather the sea was breaking over it in the rain.

I would say it's about a mile long in Herne Bays harbour. It can be a hot walk during the summer, and freezing during the winter. The views at the top are stunning. Be sure to keep an eye on the tide you can get wet lol.

Lovely view of Herne Bay and out to sea. Very enjoyable walk but can be very windy and quite chilly so visit on a warm day or wear a warm jacket. I enjoy walking down Neptune's arm when visiting Herne bay because it's quiet and peaceful, away from all the hustle ad bustle of the beach. Worth walking down if... More

Neptunes arm has no real tourist value as its just part of the weir. It does do what it's meant to do as we found a few very sad boats on a dry heap of sand when the flood was out. But yeah, wouldn't say this is a must-see or a reason to visit Herne Bay.

My partner and I visited on a very windy day and took a walk along the arm. The sea was quite choppy but we braved it anyway. A few meters along the arm a massive wave crashed into the rocks and we got soaked! We decided to carry on walking as we were already wet. At the end of the... More
