We had a long walk around these woods on a lovely sunny afternoon. There are footpaths to follow but I should imagine you will need wellies if there has been rain. It was a Sunday afternoon and we only saw one other couple all afternoon. The wildlife and nature within the walk make it really interesting. Very relaxing quiet place.... More

Now this is the place to head for with your best dog if you need headspace - ten minutes outside the bay - get your wellies on and head off - have a ramble through the woods - great in spring - bluebells - wild garlic - birds - bliss - then head back to the car - drive through... More

Hear the songs of the wild life, not drowned out by life in the fast lane! A quiet stroll though the coppices, the birds singing, you haven't had time to listen since you were a kid! Be cleaver buy a book on trees, and seem like a proffesor to the kids, maybe they in turn will learn that there is... More

We visited the Blean woods during half-term and took grandchildren and nieces along. Fortunately, it was a beautifully sunny afternoon, which made it all the more enjoyable. The entrance was the muddiest section (possibly the mud being churned up by cars parking there) but the rest of the woodland pathways were fine. We had my wheelchair-bound mother with us and... More

Many well-maintained pathways...and woods to wander through 'off piste'! My kids enjoy it here, I love it here. On a weekday in August I wandered around around here all day and did not pass one other person! One of the most amazing experiences I've had is coming across huge Highland Cattle in the woods, with 3ft horn-spans... Truly primaeval!! n.b.... More

The footpath here is very well made. There are some nice woodland sculptures to view on your way around as well. Not many birds though??? Spooky.

The Blean Woods is split into the East Blean and West Blean and further split into different woods within that. We mainly go to the East Blean and love to walk there through every season. There are paths for when it is muddy and a wonderful variety of plants. trees and fungi. I also love the history. Checkout the Blean... More
