We visited this museum at the start of our trip to a new area and found it very interesting and informative. There were a variety of different rooms including a garage and old working telephone exchange, period living areas and local history and photos. The museum is housed in three terrace houses, and the layout can be rather confusing, but... More

Amazing amount of well maintained exhibits with information made this a must to revisit. Run by very enthusiastic volunteer society members who are proud of their town , it's history and heritage.

Enthusiastically run by local volunteers, on two floors with outside exhibits also. Some excellently commentated DVD's about local history including the gunpowder factories in the town.. There is a working Strowger telephone exchange for those of us who remember them. Well laid out with a lot of thought given, and well labelled exhibits.

This is a well presented museum with lots of social aspects to the exhibits which bring it alive to visitors e.g. the shops that used to exist in Faversham. It is very varied and the exhibits are clearly labelled. The shop is small but has some nice good value objects and books for sale. The gallery also has frequent art... More

This is a small museum worth spending some time at. It is run by very knowledgeable volunteers. For those with mobility problems and unable to go upstairs, there is a screen showing a DVD of what is upstairs with full commentary. Toilets, including a disabled are available.

Visitors to Faversham should certainly start with a trip to the Fleur de Lis, as it's also the Tourist Information Centre. The museum itself is charming and gives you a flavour of how a small town has grown up since Roman times, through the two world wars and to the present day. It's an easy trip - small enough not... This museum is often overlooked by visitors to the town, which is a great shame. Take a wander through history and enjoy the story of wartime Faversham, its sporting achievements and education. The replica shops are a delight

The only TIC in the country run entirely by volunteers. The museum itself packs a lot of history, displays and artefacts in to the space available. The Volunteers are knowledgeable and friendly. The exhibits are well maintained, and informative. In comparison to some of the other local museums around (including in cities like Canterbury) The Fleu de Lis is in... More

Museum is great, full of local stuff, and well signed and arranged in a very awkward space. The shop is staffed by volunteers who easily get in a muddle if you ask them to put more than one thing through the till at a time. But the art gallery has interesting displays and the whole thing is very jolly.
