open top bus ride with a difference, catch it in yarmouth and head off to freshwater bay, then off towards the highdown inn, finally heading to alum bay and onto the needles, the views are great, a bit breath taking if its windy up on the needles, and you can get on and off any where on the route, it... This is the best way to visit the Needles if you are using public transport, with a regular service and a taped commentary en-route for those who are interested in the history of the area.

The needles breezer on a hot sunny day is amazing. Great views and trivia and you can stop off at the needles to take a look around and take pictures. You can pay to go into the national trust part to get an even better view. The only down side was getting whacked in the face with a branch even... More

kids loved it. 20 quid and you can get on and off as many times as you like. The top deck is a must but mind the trees as we got flicked with branches a few times and it did hurt. Great views and a bus every half hour with snippets of info from the driver as you go. The... More

We went when it was quiet and it was a cold windy rainy day, but we still really enjoyed it. We weren't brave enough to go on the cable chairs - we took to the steps - good excerise! but you have a good view of the needles even on a bad day. We had a little mouch around the... More

Why drive through narrow roads and pay expensive ferry fares when you can use the bus. Discount for NT members

In late July 2012 we took the ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth as foot passengers (printing out a "two for one" voucher from the Wightlink site" and then boarded the Southern Vectis open-top bus that runs each half hour from a bus stop close by the ferry terminal. We enjoyed a very scenic trip (about one hour on the bus)... More
