Southern Vectis buses proved an absolute boon to us when we visited the Isle of Wight without the benefit of a car. They ran to time (almost to the second) and covered the whole island via a frequent service. But best of all was the Needles Breezer, followed in close order by the Island Coaster. We took the Coaster -... More

My partner and me have just returned home from a wonderful weeks holiday on the IOW, the Needles Breezer bus tour was one of the activities thoroughly enjoyed whilst on the Island. We picked up the Needles Breezer bus from Yarmouth and took the bus right to the top of the Needles and Old Battery, what an experience In terms... More

You get on the bus in Yarmouth, if able climb up to the top of the open topped bus and set off. The bus sways and crashes through overhanging branches; it's quite safe but exhilarating. This is a hop on hop off bus which would let you get off at Alum Bay and other Island attractions but we didn't and... More

We used the brilliant open top bus to get to the new and old battery sites at the tip of the Needles. Great fun AND a 50% discount for national trust members.

I have used the breezers before and wouldnt miss it for the world. Sit on the top deck if you want a little excitment as you whizz under overhanging trees, watch out for insects though ! A regular service and commentary make this a great experience. The drivers are very helpful, as are the majority of bus drivers on the... More

An open-topped double decker bus ride in the rain. Not much fun ? Try this for size...... Better than any theme park ride. The bus winds it's way up above The Needles lighthouse after a journey through the most spectacular parts of West Wight. And all with the NICEST, most helpful and smilie at staff possible. Than you from the... More

We did this open top bus tour whilst visiting the Old Gaffers Festival in Yarmouth. The 1 hour, hop on, hop off tour goes via The Needles Park, up to the Old battery and past various local attractions. The views are spectacular and the ride itself is quite eventful with the wind in your face and ducking tree branches. It... More

open top bus ride with a difference, catch it in yarmouth and head off to freshwater bay, then off towards the highdown inn, finally heading to alum bay and onto the needles, the views are great, a bit breath taking if its windy up on the needles, and you can get on and off any where on the route, it... This is the best way to visit the Needles if you are using public transport, with a regular service and a taped commentary en-route for those who are interested in the history of the area.
