On a recent visit to the Isle of Wight we opted to try the Southern Vectis ‘Needles Breezer,‘ open top bus tour from Yarmouth to the Needles Battery. We usually travel around the island by car but this time being part of a larger group, we devised a trip to the ‘Needles Old Battery from Yarmouth on the bus which... More

Not much to see here really. A restaurant which is self service, bit like a motorway service station to be honest, price wise especially . Food ok though. A few rides I seem to remember and a pub and a few shops. Nothing much to see really and overpriced. Best bit was cable car down to beach. Shale beach with... More

We parked in Yarmouth and took the Needles Breezer to visit Dimbola and The Needles Battery. It was a perfect day - apart from the mist - helped along by the enthusiasm of all the staff we encountered and the scenic round trip.

We took the needles breezer from Needles park entrance and back to there and the views it takes you to are just stunning. It is a 10 -15 mins drive back to the same location. The bus takes you to the top of the mountain from where you can see pura aqua water and the boats cruising along and off... More

This great trip starts at Yarmouth, goes to Freshwater Bay, onto Alum Bay then to the highest point of the Needles and back to Yarmouth via various other stop offs. The bus is hop on, hop off and the ticket covers you for a full 24 hours. If you can manage the steep stairs, the view from the open top... More

Southern Vectis buses proved an absolute boon to us when we visited the Isle of Wight without the benefit of a car. They ran to time (almost to the second) and covered the whole island via a frequent service. But best of all was the Needles Breezer, followed in close order by the Island Coaster. We took the Coaster -... More

My partner and me have just returned home from a wonderful weeks holiday on the IOW, the Needles Breezer bus tour was one of the activities thoroughly enjoyed whilst on the Island. We picked up the Needles Breezer bus from Yarmouth and took the bus right to the top of the Needles and Old Battery, what an experience In terms... More

You get on the bus in Yarmouth, if able climb up to the top of the open topped bus and set off. The bus sways and crashes through overhanging branches; it's quite safe but exhilarating. This is a hop on hop off bus which would let you get off at Alum Bay and other Island attractions but we didn't and... More
