All of the key rooms of Palace House are open to visitors and unlike many other historic houses which are open to visitors, the house is still the home of the Montagu family, who have lived there for almost 500 years. Tours of the private apartments are available when the family is not in residence. More

I visited the Beaulieu Abbey with some friends when we visited the Motor Museum. It is a very nice place, good fun to walk around. There are some modern day paintings (i.e. late 20th century) which are cool to look at to see how much art has changed over the years. You can get guided tours around the house but... More

We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Beaulieu Abbey and that you also found the selection of artwork displayed in Palace House to be particularly interesting. The Montagu family has lived in Palace House since 1538 and the family portraits which visitors can see reflect this long and distinguished history. More

Quite nice - staff were friendly. I'm struggling to comprehend why a large country pile can call itself a charity though.

Really enjoyed our visit to the Abbey-Palace, the staff were absolutely delightful and so informative. Great value for money, our ticket covered everything apart from the Motor Museum, would most definitely revisit (in the sunshine next time).

Granted this attraction is part of the Motor museum, and is included in the £25 entrance price. I really enjoyed walking around the house, but was a bit disappointing we were limited to a small section of the house and a few rooms.

We visited the Abbey Palace house as part of the visit to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu because it's all included in the price. It is a few minutes gentle, level walk from the museum and well worth a look if you like old houses and stately homes. Part of the house is still the family home of Lord... More

a really good guide and a roaring fire in the dining hall just added to the feeling that this was a very much loved family home
