Decided to visit this picturesque spot last week. Arrived to find that they are now charging £5.90 admission - a hefty amount if you just want to admire the view. The entry fee includes a couple of tiny buildings and the museum (none of which we wanted to see anyway!!!). The village itself is beautiful and well worth a visit... more

Buckler's Hard is a small village on the river bank and although very pretty it is not worth the £5.60 entry fee in my opinion. The entry fee entitles you to access the museum, walk around the town and park in the car park however there is a public footpath running which bypasses the visitor centre and this allows you... more

Buckler's Hard is part of the Beaulieu estate (village, abbey, manor house, motor museum, etc) and is a real step back in time. You can still see where Nelson's warships were slid down into the Beaulieu river before being towed out onto the Solent by hardy oarsmen.
