lots of lovely dog-friendly pubs and places to visit - the hotel will give you a list Exbury Gardens was the highlight of our visits as it is at its loveliest this time of the year, although it is always beautiful. We also liked Lyndhurst and the Visitor Centre - staff there are very friendly and helpful.

We have spent a fantastic family holiday in the forest. There is plenty to do and see, and lots of places to get away from the tourist attractions and back to nature, with walks and picnics off the beaten track, as well as lovely villages to explore. Our four year old loved the ponies and the wide open spaces where... More

Spent Easter in the Forest. It is looking good after the winter storms. Lots of Bluebells and the Gorse in full bloom. Horses etc grazing and great to get some good fresh air. There are plenty of car parks and places where you can get away from the crowds, definitely worth the effort.

What's not to like? There are a whole range of walks; wooded or across open heath, Ponies, donkeys and a slower pace of life - this is perfect for families and for just anyone wanting to get away from it all.

Green, fresh and sunny. It's a beautiful place to walk and take in the surroundings. We often see new forest ponies and donkeys as well which roam freely in the forest and come rain or shine it's a fantastic place to have a nice breath of fresh air.

Regularly walk our dog here and run with the dog. Can do smaller walks or keep going for miles. Often seen deer, ponies, foxes and other wildlife. Some tracks are much quieter than others so pick you spot carefully if you'd like to get away from the crowds. Cycle routes are also well sign posted.

Get a bike, get a map, get lost(on purpose). Brilliant place to explore by bike. Gentle inclines but enough climbs to work off the cream teas & pub lunches........ Go as far or as short as you want.

Lovely woods, perfect for long walks. Good walking (or cycling) trails. We went during the week in March, so the place was quiet.
