We had the misfortune of attending on the May day out with Thomas. £40 for 2 adults and a child. An utter rip off. The added activities other than riding the train (3 trips included in the ticket price) were two tents set up, one with colouring and a plastic train track and another which had the odd show in.... Lakeside is a nice place to visit, the railway is fantastic for the kids to take a train ride around lakeside park. Kids loved it. There's a kids park down there which is ok but could do with doing it up a bit. Overall a nice trip out with the family

Our four year old son loves steam trains & as with many attractions/places to go in January, not a lot are open. I came across a leaflet for Eastleigh Railway & i'm glad I did. There are many good points to talk about here, but shall give the very best. Free parking on site, this is always handy especially if... More

I live right next door so use the park on a regular basis.lovely for a short stroll around the lakes or a train ride if your feeling lazy, which seems to be very popular with all ages, also there's a great cafe on site with friendly staff and a killer breakfast, park is very clean with no litter blowing around,a little bit... This is local to us and a great short visit out for our 5 year old. The railway has special days with Thomas which are a real hit. Normal days are just as good though with cheap returns to Monks Brook where there is children's playground, picnic area and the chance to have a walk by the lake.

Smallish park with some lakes and a model railway. Railway is a little expensive for what it is, but good. Will use a few hours if you go walking and play in the park etc.

Bearing in mind that this set-up has been created mainly by volunteers the experience is extremely smart. Inevitably, given that the line goes round in a loop, it doesn't feel as if you have achieved much, especially if you are on a quick visit rather than breaking the trip half way round for a walk or picnic. I can understand... More

The train ride was good fun for both adults and children and took us round the lakeside park which was bigger than expected. We did not realise you could get off half way round, where there is a picnic area and playground, and then could get a train back later but will do this next time. A little expensive for... More
