The Hawk Conservancy Trust is a conservation charity and award winning visitor centre that operates in the fields of conservation, education, rehabilitation and research of birds of prey. Set in 22 acres of woodland and wildflower meadow, there are over 150 birds of prey on view, from the tiny Pygmy Owl to the impressive Steller's Sea Eagles! Many of these birds are involved in the spectacular daily flying demonstrations, whilst others are part of important breeding or environmental enrichment projects. Every visitor can hold a British bird of prey and there are extra activities during weekends and school holidays for the younger visitors.

We had such an amazing time here, and it was totally unexpected. Came with a friend and saw the 2pm show with the most incredible vulture and kite display that brought tears to our eyes. The rest of the birds are also fascinating and the own show is brilliant. Didn't even know I liked birds of prey, but now I... More

The site was well set-out with roomy cages with shelter, shade and plenty of perches for the birds in a lovely mixture of natural meadows and pretty woods. Free-flying displays of owls, kites and hawks could be watched with the birds rising on thermals of warm air and gliding low over our heads to take treats from their trainers, and taught... More

What a lovely place! We travelled as a mixed group, one young teenager, one senior citizen and two somewhere in the middle. Didn't really know what to expect. It is a joyous occasion. All the birds are magnificent and seem really relaxed and comfortable in their surroundings. The grounds are well laid out and plenty of information is provided about... More

Went with open mind but thinking might not be too great. Wrong. Good clean restaurant, plenty of space plus outdoor eating if required, good choice of food & drink. Flying displays of eagles, vultures, kites, owls all with good commentary. aviaries for birds seem adequate for their welfare & all with explanation. Seems to be a very professionally run &... More

I was unsure for the price how good it would be, but it turned out to be a great afternoon for me and my partner. The birds are clearly well looked after and have lovely cages. The walk around is nice and the bird shows are amazing. The commentator and staff clearly care about the difference they are making. Our... More

Went to the Hawk Conservancy for the first time last weekend and had an amazing day out. We actually were on our way somewhere else but stayed for four hours and certainly wish we had had more time there. The birds were wonderful with a stunning show displayed by dedicated and caring staff. It was an informative and inspiring day... More
