The Hawk Conservancy Trust is a conservation charity and award winning visitor centre that operates in the fields of conservation, education, rehabilitation and research of birds of prey. Set in 22 acres of woodland and wildflower meadow, there are over 150 birds of prey on view, from the tiny Pygmy Owl to the impressive Steller's Sea Eagles! Many of these birds are involved in the spectacular daily flying demonstrations, whilst others are part of important breeding or environmental enrichment projects. Every visitor can hold a British bird of prey and there are extra activities during weekends and school holidays for the younger visitors.

Hard to fault this place, really. Adults and children with any interest at all in birds or conservation will find this a really interesting and enjoyable day out. A wide range of birds of prey can be seen in large aviaries with plenty of information, set in attractive and well maintained grounds, but what really makes the visit are the... More

What a wonderfully entertaining day out! I think this venue is suitable for all ages and also for many abilities as most of the centre is wheelchair or pushchair accessible and not too large. It is not, however, suitable for those with a bird phobia! The great displays allow you to get very close to the various birds - they... More

As my wife & I had a spare day we decided to visit this attraction as the weather was reasonable. The site is well sign posted on the A303 and is down a narrow but short distance country lane. There appears to be ample parking for peak season visitors. The entrance price appears to be quite expensive, however, this is... More

What a lovely place to go on a day out with family. It feels like a different world surrounded by trees with big cages for the birds of all sizes. The flying experiences that happen are really wonderful and close encounter with Vultures is fascinating. A place to visit over again.

I've been several times, and still love going back to see what new displays they have and what new birds (Royal Ibis this season), as well as simply enjoy being that close to so many of them flying directly over our heads. There is always a sophisticated and well-informed commentary, and always delivered with a wonderful sense of humour mixed... More

I have visited many bird of prey shows but this is the best by far. The enthusiasm of the staff and the thrilling displays make this a day to remember. Like many others, I left at the end of the day with hundreds of photographs and a new-found respect for these special birds, in particular the much-maligned vultures.

This is really a truly great day out! The flying displays are exciting, fascinating and entertaining. Whole teams of kites and vultures. Two Bald Eagles coming from a mile and half away. The amazing Merlin Falcon. And of course the beautiful and serene owls! The staff are extremely knowledgeable and have great bond with the birds. If you haven't been..........go!

Under any circumstances do not miss the flying displays. Our commentator Ash was very informative and made the shows very entertaining. Overall it was great value for money and was a really great day out. Our tip would be to make sure that you arrive before 11.30a.m. so as not to miss the first show. Highly recommended.

This a fabulous place to visit, they have three flying displays every day where the birds fly really close to you - the staff are all really friendly and very knowledgable and there are plenty of opportunities to hold owls and get very close to lots of different birds. Apart from the three displays, there are lots of other activities,... More

I genuinely was not excited when I went with my family to the Hawk Conservancy as I didn't think it was my cup of tea - I could not have been more wrong! You don't have to be a bird nerd to love it here, I had the most amazing day and enjoyed every second. The shows are what makes... More
