Right in the middle of what appears to be a busy industrial area is Ordsall Hall. Great day out for children amongst the architecture, grounds, and stories of the Gunpowder Plot. We went there before, after a last renovation, for the Hog Roast day and brought my daughters little friends - great day out with costumes and stories of the... More

Ordsall Hall is an absolute historical gem and shouldn't be missed. There is much to do and see both inside and outside this wonderfully restored building. There are tours, by the very committed volunteers, which last just over an hour and cost £2pp and are very well worthwhile to get the best out of this site. There is plenty of... More

A stately home/museum-type place probably isn't the first thing that would spring to mind when choosing a good day out for a small child, but in this case, we chose well! The setting of Ordsall Hall is unexpected, it hides in the middle of a perfectly ordinary housing estate in Salford just waiting to be discovered. A leisurely trip round... More

A black and white Tudor gem sat in the middle of a Salford estate at the rear Its recently been renovated and new gardens laid out. You can picnic outside or view the artifacts in the interior. Great for families and parking is easy as the car park is at the side. The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. Don't forget... More

Ordsall hall, has recently undergone a make over and the improvements have been on the positive side. It used to be a little boring but with the new layout and features it is a great half day out for old and young alike. My wife and I took the grand kids one afternoon in the Easter school holidays and I... More

I've been lucky enough to live close by to Ordsall hall for a number of years now and it is one of my favourite places to visit. It is imaginatively decorated and really gives you a feeling of going back in time. The staff are polite and very knowledgeable, always happy to help. The fact that it is free and... More

My husband found this hidden gem by accident while out on a walk. We then went to visit it together. A tudor hall in the centre of a housing estate!
