Supremely atmospheric immaculate Tudor Hall run by Salford Council, incongruously found in a housing estate just a few minutes’ drive from the Quays. Several rooms restored to their full glory. Excellent informative tour by Sue, although quite a few information boards/ transfers on the walls, and a small museum-type space with context on the building’s history & survival. Currently a... Fantastic that Salford has retained and maintained this important piece of history in the middle of a council house estate.

Really close to Manchester centre by Metrolink. The hall has recently undergone a complete restoration and is full of furniture built under the Tudors. Oh, and there are ghosts too. The staff is friendly and helpful : special thanks to the lady who gave me a private tour.

Moderately interesting A remnant of old Salford. Spacious environment in midst of sort of barren area.

Tucked away in the middle of houses and industrial buildings this historical attraction could so easily be missed. We had been going to visit for a while and I am so pleased we finally made it. My husband and I spent an interesting 3 hours touring this building. Friendly staff, interesting exhibits and hands on objects added to the experience.... More

I'm so glad to hear that you had what sounds like a wonderful few hours here at the Hall! We do hope you'll come back and see us again some time - perhaps when the garden is in full bloom and the allotment is finished! More

Having visited Salford lots of times, we decided to go to Ordsall Hall in Feb half term and I am so glad we did. From the minute we arrived, we were greeted by very friendly, helpful staff who seem genuinely happy in their job. They gave us a map and a brief run down of the Hall and recommended the... More

Loved visiting here , beautiful building , very shocked as to where it's located .... What looks like the middle of a council estate ?? Well worth a visit although parking was a bit extreme with the price

So glad to hear you enjoyed your visit - we have a lot of visitors who are surprised about how the urban landscape has grown around the beautiful old Hall! Many thanks for your positive feedback. I'm sorry to hear you found the parking charge to be extreme - we thought that £2 was fairly reasonable considering it's free to... More

Situated in an "interesting" part of Salford but it has its own car park. Worth a visit although parts of has been "improved" in recent years which for us has removed some of the history of the building. Also as noted elsewhere as with a lot of these types of places you only get to see a small bit of... More

So glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit to the Hall - but sorry to hear that you feel some of the history was removed with the restoration. All the work was carried out by specialist craftsmen who carried out their work very sensitively, as it would have been done originally. Wherever possible they have taken the Hall back... More

A wonderful place, steeped in history! Staff all very friendly, small cafe & gift shop too. The kids loved dressing up in the Tudor clothes & Amour. Sadly.....we didn't see any of the ghosts. :( Free admission (although we made a donation) & only £2 to park the car! Brilliant!
