A very attractive and assessable house, unfortunately the moat is a little overgrown but you can still get the feel of how it would have been. Unfortunately the upstairs is out of bounds at present due to renovation work. You get a feel of how people would have lived in those times.

We had a lovely time at the "meet the tutors" experience. Staff were dressed in the style for that period and were on call to... More

Have been here twice now, and have yet to meet any drinkers as the previous reviewer found. In fact I think it is a really special place away from the hustle and bustle of Southend sea... More

As a working father I only get to take my children there in the summer holidays and what a surprise I have every year when omg!I walk into the park and surprise, surprise there are those bloody alcoholics using this so called attraction as somewhere... an unexpected spot with pretty gardens, nice little hands on museum, love the turtles in the pond! A lot of local history or just a quiet place to sit and feed the ducks.
