This is a very small but interesting museum set in a small park with a lake. The moat could do with some attention which apparently is in the control of Southend Council. The Museum consists of three rooms. A kitchen which is decorated as it would gave been in Tudor times. You go into the main Hall which would have... More

This is FREE which is amazing. Its small but it is lovely grounds with ducks and geese and a lovely herb garden set in the tudor style. It has a gift shop and toilets in the grounds. A very attractive and assessable house, unfortunately the moat is a little overgrown but you can still get the feel of how it would have been. Unfortunately the upstairs is out of bounds at present due to renovation work. You get a feel of how people would have lived in those times.

We had a lovely time at the "meet the tutors" experience. Staff were dressed in the style for that period and were on call to... More

Have been here twice now, and have yet to meet any drinkers as the previous reviewer found.
