Walk as a couple, play with your grandchild, throw stones into the water, eat a nice cream. This is Chalkwell Beach. English Beach at its Best.

My family spend much of their time on this beach. Yes you have to check tide times but if out you can walk out to the ray and swim (shoes a must) go crabbing and explore. Tide in then a nice swim can be had. We go all year round and so much wildlife can be seen a vast array... More

Hi All, this is the one advice for anyone wishing to go to the chalkwell beach. Reading thru all the tips and advice posted here, we went today to the beach and to say we were disappointed, would be an understatement. Yes, there was no sea there, no water !! The reason, was quite obvious, of course chalkwell is an... More

A lovely beach, not over run with tourists (no offence!). If you want a beach with a different get off at Chalkwell station on the C2C line and walk over the railway bridge. There are toilet facilities, a cafe, etc. Just a nice family beach to enjoy the sun.

Bucket and spade territory. Great for kids and their shrimp nets. Walk along until you find a stretch that you like it does change as you wander. Can be littered after dusk from partying individuals with less consideration but that's an exception not as a rule and the council are very good at clearing up.

Very lovely and busy on a sunny day. For a day trip this destination is best because along with the beach there are plenty places to eat and do shopping. Very clean and modern but I did not like the water. May be the season or some other problem, the water is full with sea weeds and algae. The night... More

Its right by chalkwell station so perfect if u haven't got a car. It does get crowded especially in the holidays but don't let that stop you. Theres plenty of toilets and vending places. If u walk up the hill in to chalkwell proper lots of other shops and a really nice park too./

Have visited her a few times and my daughter always loves, whatever the weather. In the summer she loves building sand castles and looking for crabs, can spend hours here. Have on one occasion found a needle on the beach, but this has obviously not put us off returning, just keep an eye on little ones!
