Established on the current Clacton site in 1899, and run independently by the West Cliff Trust, the West Cliff is the only surviving purpose-built theatre in Clacton, and plays host to professional touring shows and many local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, dance schools, and other youth groups. Its compact auditorium with just under 600 seats, a unique atmosphere and knowledgeable and friendly staff make it Clacton's theatre of choice for artistes and audiences alike. The Stage Door Bar is open both prior to and during the interval for each show, and provides pre-booked meals for selected shows. The lounge may be hired for private functions with or without bar and catering services.

This theatre, run and maintained mostly by volunteers, is an historical jewel. There are few independent theatres left and this one is just great. There is a full programme of shows offered (matinee and evening performances) throughout the year - both professional and by local amateur groups. There is 'something for everyone' - tribute bands, solo artistes, bands, choirs, plays,... More

West Cliff theatre is a friendly place to visit. They have very good acts throughout the year. Bonus there is a car park, not large, but close. I was there with friends to see Lee Mead in concert, which of course was excellent.

A great show for the family! Something for everyone from singing along with Andy Eastwood to magic with Doves and a great comedian. The whole cast look like they enjoy every minute of the show! My grand children loved it.

A nice little theatre. We've been to see half a dozen shows here & always had fun. The staff are very helpful. I would recommend that you order your interval drinks before the show starts as the two bar-staff were run off their feet.

Nice little theatre, does have some good acts on now and again. Went to the summer variety show was a waste of time and money so very amateurish. My advice is only go when there is an established person or group, otherwise you could be disappointed.

Just had a lovely afternoon at this little theatre. wonderful compere/comedy Neil Hurst, had even the children laughing. Andy Eastwood was brilliant with the banjo, ukkeleyle, and guitar, songs and music from the 50's right up to date. Elvis was great.Magician OliverTabor had us guessing where the doves came from and come to that , even a lady magically appeared from nowhere.... More

A very nice theatre, easy to get to, and pleasant staff. The concert by Lee Mead was excellent as always.

Charming theatre just a short walk from The Pier and attractions. Elvis Tribute on the night we attended and we had a great night. Lots of staff to help out, nice little bar and good views of stage helped ensure we enjoyed our evening.

Saw the Elvis show with family, all seats were full which is great for the venue! Certainly got your moneys worth! Bar not that big and not many toilets for a full venue but other than that very organised and great staff! Just a shame I'm not an Elvis fan, but the others enjoyed it!!!😀
