Light lunch with a garden walk

Food is always home cooked and fresh. Soups are delicious. Curries excellent. Lunches for children are always enjoyed. The cakes - too good to miss.

We visited here with the grandchildren, in fact more than once. It was a nice warm day and the gardens were still looking good. There was an activity barn for the kids that they all thoroughly enjoyed, making things, painting, etc. There is also a children's adventure type playground which they spent a good deal of time on. There is... More

We paid a visit to Hyde Hall Gardens aa guests of Viking River Cruises. We were met at the entrance and given a gentle 45 minute tour with a volunteer guide. This tour involved a walk which reached the top of the hill where, for us, lies the interesting Dry Garden. The views from the top are worth the climb... More

The RHS garden at Hyde Hall in Chelmsford is a good place to visit on a nice day. We have been to this garden several times over the last 20 years and it is constantly being developed into a better visitor attraction. Having re-joined the RHS again this year we decided we would pay an early visit to the garden... More

Have visited several time before but never in early spring but was not disappointed as there was so much early flowers and blossom and beautiful foliage still left on grasses and dead... More

Visited for the first time in many years and amazed at the transformation of the eating and shopping areas which were all good. Pleased to see though that the gardens themselves were still as beautiful. Will not leave it so long to return next time.

Nice place to unwind and walk in lovely gardens then go for a delicious home cooked meal in the Barn restaurant.

We visit Hyde Hall very regularly and it never fails to delight. The grounds are beautiful and for a short trip down the A127 you can step into an oasis of calm. Food in the main entrance cafeteria is limited, but the barn restaurant is very good. Sadly my wife gives the shop and garden centre a pounding every time... More

There are so many different themed gardens, giving good ideas for your own. Restaurants serve good food and the shop has many unusual items
