I'm no gardener. I don't know what flowers im looking at half the time. But we decided to go here one day when we was bored of sitting at home watching storage wars. So when we got there we was amazed how big this place is. There is loads to look at and lots of great photo opportunities to take.... More

Hyde Hall is a scenic series of gardens with ponds, ducks, fish and geese (I counted over 40 geese today). It has a small wooden play area for children which is shaded ideal for those blistering hot days back in the Summer. It is reasonably child friendly and throughout the holidays has some kind of trail for the children to... More

Absolutely lovely gardens, lots of variety and things to see. car park was very busy but certainly didn't feel that way in the gardens. Tea shops available - we ate in the barn and had lovely cake. Worth a day in the sunshine.

Been here several times over the years and it's been interesting to see it develop. What is there is good but not on a par with other RHS sites such as Rosemoor. In time I think it will be a great day out but currently it's a few hours at best. One piece of advice would be get a cup of... More

This RHS gem hidden in the Essex countryside is a great place to visit, very high quality restaurant serving excellent food, good portion size and vegetables grown in the gardens. The gardens themselves are a delight throughout the seasons, and you always come away full of enthusiasm to create the same effect in your own garden. The Chilli festival this... More

It's great to hear that you find your visits to Hyde Hall inspirational. We do try hard to ensure that there's always something to see whatever time of the year it is, so that you can try ideas out in your own garden. As you mention, we are currently planning a new Learning Centre where visitors of all ages will... More

Ill keep it short and sweet It has a very man made feel, dont go if your after a nice walk in the country. Very over priced for the little that is there. Go to Marks Hall. under half the price more to see and beautifull

Thank you for your feedback. While the centre of the garden is more intensely planted and cultivated, the estate and Woodland Walk is more profoundly naturalistic and the bird hide is a great place to spot waterfowl on the reservoir. It's hard to tell if you discovered this on your visit? If you do the Hilltop Garden and Estate, the... More

Lovely gardens, wonderful setting, excellent shop and restaurants - what more could you want. We visit several times a year to witness the changing seasons and our walk through the area never disappoints. If you like wonderful flower displays, quiet areas, good views across Essex or just somewhere to walk in peace then this would suit you well There are... More

Nice to hear you enjoy your seasonal visits to the garden. Over the years we've tried hard to boost the amount of seasonal interest so that visitors can enjoy a visit to the garden all year round. More

Hyde Hall is a beautiful garden in acres of stunning Essex countryside. You enter through the visitor centre which also contains a cafe and shop including a garden centre. We were greeted by happy and helpful staff. You walk on a series of paths up to the main gardens but a golf type buggy is available if required. (Nb There... More

Thank you for kind feedback. It certainly sounds that you made the most of your trip to Hyde Hall and discovered all the various areas we have on offer. We actually own approx. 360-acres, so even on a busy day there is normally somewhere where you can sit peacefully and take in the views, but I agree that the rose... More

My wife and I visited RHS Hyde Hall on Saturday 27th September on our 45th Wedding Anniversary and they had a Chilli Weekend to entertain us. Fortunately the weather was lovely and the show very entertaining. We arrived at 11.30 and the Chilli event was in full flow and after a quick look round we decided to go for a... More
