Spend a morning (or afternoon) here and you will come away invigorated. With the spring bulbs coming up early there is a whole array of colours to enjoy in the flower beds. The wonderfully arranged borders and beds are tendered too constantly and plants and shrubs change with the season, making this a joyous visit anytime of the year. We... More

We visit Hyde Hall on a regular basis having joined Rhs last year. Gardens are lovely but we are not keen on the restaurant within the gardens. Every visit so far they have run out of our choices. Portions are far too big, would be nice if they did half sizes for those of us who have smaller appitites. Main... More

Glad you enjoyed your initial visit enough to become members. However, sorry to hear that the restaurant is not to your liking. I'll pass your comments on to the restaurant staff to see if they can address the issues you raise. More

My wife & I are frequent visitors to these gardens & try & go every month so we can experience the changes to all the plants, shrubs & trees throughout the seasons, especially the autumnal colour changes to the leaves on the trees & shrubs before winter. If you wish to have some refreshments there is the old barn restaurant... More

A good place to visit situated in a pleasant rural area. Easy to access by car. Public transport difficult. Plenty of interesting aspect to cater for most people with an agricultural interest.

Thanks for your comments. We are lucky enough to have a wide range of plants and planting styles so most people do manage to find something they like on a visit to us. The rural agricultural setting also sets off the garden wonderfully. More

Had a complementary ticket so dry, sunny day and decided to use it before it expired. Enjoyed our visit, nice walks and things to look at, parking good, toilets clean, staff all friendly and helpful. Didn't eat in the barn as we couldn't get a table. Nice place to return to and would like to be there in summer when... More

Have watched the gardens develop over the years and they've now started to bear fruit (excuse the pun). Good if unspectacular café at the entrance, nice little nursery stocking some of the more unusual plants, indoor shop with a wide range of quality merchandise, and then the gardens themselves. Wide range of features, including the dry garden, rose garden, ponds,... More

Thanks for your review and glad to hear that you think the garden is now maturing. If you are after ideas for the children, then look out for our insect themed events for the 2016 Feb half term holidays. More

I have visited these gardens as a member of RHS on numerous occasions and have always found them to be delightful and well kept with improvements being carried out on a frequent basis, The shop is well stocked with quality items as is the garden department which retails a large range of plants, pots and garden accessories. Catering however does... More

These RHS gardens are good to wander around at all times of year. There are two good restaurant inside seating in winter and plenty of outdoor seating in summer. Very pleasant paths with interesting plants. There is transport available for those unable to walk to the higher levels. Would recommend .

Even though we are not especially keen on horticulture the tea room and shop make a pleasant visit. Now that the cardboard cups have been replaced by good China the tea or coffee tastes so much better too. Lovely setting and easy parking makes this rare gem for this part of Essex.

The Visitor Centre has become and destination in its own right and we do get lots of people stopping off for lunch and a browse in the shop. However, perhaps you might consider popping in to see the garden as well on one of your visits? More
