Liked most of it, didn't like the pushy English Heritage woman selling memberships as we went in, nor the broken AV displays in the visitors centre. Other than that, well presented, and the audio tour was excellent. More

We visited the abbey and battlefield whilst staying in Battle. We particularly like the free audio tour which explained the context and history behind the place. Overall a "must do" place to visit for any one staying in the area. More

We visited after a lot of rain, and while there were patches of mud on the walk round the field, I thought they'd done a lot to try to keep it passable. Still recommend wellies for the little ones. I can be very brief on this venue : take the audio guide and take the complete tour to find yourself flung back a millennium and see and understand how one of the most important events in western history happened. This was a lovely morning out. The good thing about it was that you could choose the longer tour around the battlefield or the shorter trip overlooking the ground. Had a lovely afternoon at Battle Abbey, did the Battle field tour, 40 minutes. Lovely way to spend a sunny afternoon out of London.
