Description: Behind the walls of our Victorian building in the heart of Southwold sits...
Behind the walls of our Victorian building in the heart of Southwold sits one of the most modern breweries in the UK. Over the past few years the brewery has undergone a complete refurbishment with the replacement of the brewstream being the most recent update. This state-of-the-art installation recovers 100% of the heat and steam from each brew, 90% of which is used to reheat the next. This reduces the amount of gas needed during the brewing process by 30%.The new system can also brew larger batches in less time, making more efficient use of raw materials. It is also very efficient in water usage with a ratio of 3.2 pints of water to every pint of beer, compared to the industry average of 8. It even cleans itself and we're trying to programme it to make the tea too. But don't just take our word for it, book a tour, come and meet one of the brewery team and see it all for yourself. Please book ahead online for by calling our booking line to avoid disappointment.

A great tour around the brewery, commencing with a DVD explaining the processes of both brewing and distilling. This is followed by a visit to the brewery itself and the cooperage. The tour then heads to the tasting room before handing out vouchers for a free bottle of beer and money off at the Adnams store

We have done a few brewery tours over the years but adnams ranks the best. The guide was first class sharing interesting historical information and knowledgeable information about the brewery and brewing procedures. The tour concluded with beer (and spirits) tastings or which there was ample time and a nice selection of beers to taste. Adnams now have a distillery... More

It was a detailed tour and you can take pic after all they "have no secrets" accept their recipes lol I love the way that parts of the brewery are hidden away in houses and how they havent impinged negatively on the town. The tour guide we had was a lady called Sue, she was really friendly and knowledgeable and could handle any questions put to her confidently! It was really interesting to learn about the process of the beer making and i think that just the right amount of time was spent on each section. The tasting at the end was really... More

A very informative tour, lots of information presented in a relaxed atmosphere. The pace is relaxed and plenty of time to look around and ask questions. Beer tasting session was generous with plenty to sample and time to recognise the different hops used. Rounded off with a stroll to the shop where you can tasted vodka, Gin and Limoncello. Free... A chance to see a working brewery, in picture postcard Southwold. An amazing und informative tour. The smell of hops is unforgettable. A brewery that is fronted by facades of local houses to blend in. Make sure you go to their shop, ales, wines, small kegs of beer, and much, much moor. You must try the Adnams Broadside ale.

A very informative tour. The details given by the guide were understandable and full of useful details about the brewing process. I had no idea of how automated the brewing of beer has become. On completion of the tour we had the chance to sample several types of beer brewed. Then, with our voucher, to the outlet where further sampling... More

We tried to book this on line but the tour was fully booked for the Saturday – however I rang them and they managed to fit the two of us in on the Saturday afternoon tour. I highly recommend this tour. My husband loves his ales and especially Adnams so it was great to see the whole process from start... More

Starting with the complex history of the brewery through to the present day your tour guide gives you an in-depth explanation of how all the different beers are made. Finishing with a tasting of each of the many beers you are then ready for a nice lunch. To make the day complete, when you book for the brewer tour in... More

I have been drinking Adnams for many years and have wanted to visit Southwold and the Adnams Brewery for a long time. Neither disappointed and the tour was excellent. From the starting point and introduction video it was informative and well paced. Zoe our guide was very well informed and conveyed a great deal of knowledge and enthusiasm for the... More
