Over the past few years the brewery has undergone a complete refurbishment with the replacement of the brewstream being the most recent update. This state-of-the-art installation recovers 100% of the heat and steam from each brew, 90% of which is used to reheat the next. This reduces the amount of gas needed during the brewing process by 30%.The new system can also brew larger batches in less time, making more efficient use of raw materials. It is also very efficient in water usage with a ratio of 3.2 pints of water to every pint of beer, compared to the industry average of 8. It even cleans itself and we’re trying to programme it to make the tea too. But don’t just take our word for it, book a tour, come and meet one of the brewery team and see it all for yourself. « less

We had a great tour of the brewery with our guide Danielle. We tried at least 8 different beers in the sample bar before concluding the tour with tastes of the World's Best Gin & Vodka in Adnams Cellar and Kitchen Shop. We also got a bottle of beer to take home, although that was swiftly drank in the B&B... More

What's not to like? It's beer and it's great and it's in gorgeous Southwold!.? The tour is a must, be good if you could link the brewery and distillery tour together, but that would be my only suggestion. What was really good was that as we were running a little late, we were called on our mobile to let us... More

I have done lots of different brewery tours and Adnams is one of the best. Ross our guide was entertaining and knowledgable, the brewery itself was really interesting and afterwards lots of free samples in the bar! Whats not to like?! Would definitely recommend.

We did the tour on a Saturday morning with tour guide Danielle . She is very knowledgable and conducted the tour in a friendly and fun way . We learned about the history of the business and brewing .Sampled 5 of the beers and then went to the cellar shop for a free bottle of beer. While there we had... More

My husband and I did this tour for our wedding anniversary. It was informative and interesting and the tour guide was happy to take questions but was never too techinical or too boring. We got to try about 7 different beers and then got a free bottle in the shop (though we also bought a lot more!). As a real... More

Had a really fantastic tour, the brewery itself is very modern but in historic buildings-but don't be put off by other reviews. A informative tour with a very good guide. This was followed by a very relaxed visit to the tap room where you can try whatever you like, on draught or bottle. After thus it was off to the... More

Thoroughly recommend you take this tour. Although a lot of the processes are now done by computers it is fascinating to see a modern 'small' brewery in operation. The guide was very informative and liked to talk as well as answer questions. It didn't hurt that there was a tasting session at the end when you could taste any of... More

An interesting mix of an old building with a modern brewery inside. Interesting even to non-drinkers. You also get the opportunity to sample the produce afterwards!

This was a simple but fantastic value tour. The guide was funny and informative, and we were able to taste the different grains that were used to make the beers, which was interesting. After learning about the process and being shown around we were able to taste 4 different beers - not just little thimblefuls but a decent amount! Then... More
