Over the past few years the brewery has undergone a complete refurbishment with the replacement of the brewstream being the most recent update. This state-of-the-art installation recovers 100% of the heat and steam from each brew, 90% of which is used to reheat the next. This reduces the amount of gas needed during the brewing process by 30%.The new system can also brew larger batches in less time, making more efficient use of raw materials. It is also very efficient in water usage with a ratio of 3.2 pints of water to every pint of beer, compared to the industry average of 8. It even cleans itself and we’re trying to programme it to make the tea too. But don’t just take our word for it, book a tour, come and meet one of the brewery team and see it all for yourself. « less

Our friends invited us to join them on a tour. They had been given the tickets as a Christmas present. Our guide, Ross was very informative and gave us a good insight into the working of the brewery. Although not a beer drinker he was very knowledge about the range of beers and the male members enjoyed the tasting.

A good way to pass an hour or so if weather inclement. Robert our tour guide was informative and had the right delivery with a touch of humour to keep people interested. Generous beer tasting followed by wine tasting.... make sure you are not driving home!

Visited Adnams this weekend with a small group of friends. Thoroughly good couple of hours. Our tour guide Robert was a brilliant blend of knowledgeable enthusiasm and relaxed familial welcome. Good level of details for the group accompanied by a very generous tasting session. Answered all our questions. Thanks!

Had a very good tour of the Admams brewery in Southwold £10.80) which was spoilt because it was difficult to always hear what the guide was telling you. I appreciate that my hearing is not brilliant but my wife (who unfortunately can hear me open a pack of biscuits from 100 yards away) also struggled to understand what was being... More

Highly recommended. Very interesting and definitely worth a visit. Make ure you've eaten before you go as you can end up drinking a lot. The tour ends in the bar where you get to taste lots of different beers, then you go to their shop where we tasted the spirits too!

We booked this on line Wednesday morning , arrived at reception 10 minutes early as requested and had a little look round the small museum and then our guide , Robert showed us around the Brewery , which was excellent and Robert's knowledge was second to none and a very friendly guy too . £12 for the tour and lots... A really well planned and presented tour with a great guide. Great use of the old buildings for the new brewing kit. Clearly all the team are proud of their work. The tasting session was great with a range of brews in enough volume to want to avoid driving! Sadly the own label wine isn't in the same class as... More

Friendly and informative and just the right length, ending with a generous tasting of various beers and then "because we were good" a couple of wines to taste and a gin. Now enrolled on the gin making day and very much looking forward to it!

Best brewery tour I have ever done, really friendly, informative and interesting. Good tasting at the end as well. Worth the visit to Southwold on its own.

We arrived at the tour starting point 10 mins early, as requested on our tickets, only to still be stood on the street 35 mins later with our tour guide not having turned up. The Adnams office was closed for the weekend, with no one answering calls. In the end, we had to run after another tour guide who rang... More
