Good to walk down to the end of the pier and look at the town and the lighthouse. The pier itself has good quality shops and a variety of indoor and outdoor restaurants and seating. Families were enjoying themselves!

Most casual visitors will head for coffee on the pier, as we do every year. The arrival of Costa in Southwold is a problem for visitors wishing to support local independent outlets who are looking for a good cappuccino as none seem to compare. I think I enjoyed my Pier coffee more last summer so not sure what's changed as... More

I took my family for a visit to Southwold as my grandson was itching to go to the unusual arcade to win some "pirate money!" We had a lovely picnic in the field near the boating lake and then walked over to the Pier and he won his bullion and was not disappointed! We spent the day on the beach... More

We went on a glorious sunny Saturday. The pier was clean and not overly crowded. There was availability at all the restaurants on the pier. There are also a few shops on the pier. There us not a lot to do on the piers (no rides). But it was lovely to take a stroll to the end and gave a... More

There is really nothing negative to say about the pier at Southwold. It has such lovely and unique designs strung throughout the entire pier from the local artist/engineer, Tim Hunkin, that did the Under the Pier show. Lovely view, lots of seating, and just enough "to-do". I highly recommend popping into the Under the Pier show, and having a browse... More

I'll keep this short and sweet as I don't know where to start with this beautiful place but here goes. We had the most perfect fish and chips at the bottom of the pier (perhaps pricey however, you pay for local, fresh produce and it's worth it) we took a nice leisurely stroll along the pier itself, enjoyed the breathtaking... We went to Southwold on a sunny June day for a few hours. The carpark is next to the Pier and it's a small place, so there isn't too much walking. The Pier is small but has nice gift shops selling expensive Southwold bits and pieces. Everywhere is expensive there but it is very "nice" as a result. My partner... More

This is so elegant both to look at from the shore and to walk along. It is so pretty and well-kept, and I love the grey and white simplicity as well as the witty clock.
