You can just wander along the pier and have a cuppa or a meal as you would on any pier. The twist comes in the form of the water clock and the slightly crazy amusements that are just as much fun watching other people having a go!

Great shopping for gifts - lovely tea rooms - bracing air - fun water sculpture/clock. We always come here on our visits to lovely Southwold.

What to do on a Sunday, staying out of season at Gt. Yarmouth? with no car!! We duscovered that buses run from Ymth. Bus Station all the way to,Southwold Pier. What a good idea we thought. On arriving we entererd the Pier through the 'lit up' entrance...(big mistake for us...the crowds/ ..the noise!!) There is an alternative wheelchair friendly ramp... More

Old school pier providing shelter from the wind, shopping, views and sustenance. And most of all you must check out the arcade games, quirky and amusing (even for a non arcade gamer like me),

Conforms to the seaside stereotype, including wind and gales. Tea shop has all the calories you need. Mural of George Orwell interesting.

Coming from Weston-super-Mare I'm well versed in piers. I can confirm this is a pier, and at least it's free to walk down it, but there isn't a whole lot to see/do. We also managed to get gouged for £25 (2 x sausage & chips and 1 x cod and chips (and two drinks)) at the cafe right by the... More

Shops are gorgeous, views amazing. There's always someone trying their hand at crabbing at the end of the pier. Amusments aren't too noisy & have loads of 2p falls!

We come here every year on our way home from our annual trip to Norfolk. It's so beautiful and unspoilt. It's a very different English seaside experience, there are no bright lights, arcades or candy floss stands, this is craft galleries, pretty gift shops and gorgeous beach huts. The pier is outstanding with a lovely tearoom at the entrance where... More

Arrived here on the bank holiday Monday, it was busy and windy. Lovely restaurant on the pier where we had lunch. Interesting shops on the pier, and a short one at that. Plenty of children and dogs around but not enough to be put off by that said. Great vista of the coloured huts on the shoreline from the top... More

The standard of this pier has been maintained through change of ownership. Well worth a visit whatever time of year or whatever weather.
