Visited Southwold Pier for first time on 23/05/15. Was impressed with the cafes and shops. Have to say shops to purchase 'nick naks' was more expensive than I would expect to pay, but have to remember you are in Southwold. At end of pier there were several people fishing. The views at end of pier are worth the walk. The... More

A nice clean small pier. There is some strange telescope at end of pier but you have to pay to use, would be good if free, then more would investigate what it does. thee is a restaurant at the start of pier with outside sitting, so this spills into walk way, making it a bottle neck, and for those dining... I just love Boardwalk Restaurant on the Pier at Southwold. Wonderfully helpful staff, great views, great food, great everything. When I visit Southwold I spend most of my time there. Love it!

An iconic pier, well made and very sturdy. Pleasant walk out and back. Couple of places selling coffee and tea and a few pleasant shops selling sea based ornaments and stationery.

The pier is quite cute with a number of shops and a restaurant and some rather interesting arcade machines (not sure how else to describe them). There is also a lighthouse in the village - several hundred metres from the seafront.

This is a perfect pier to visit whatever the weather. From the great Pier restaurant at the front to the quirky arcade halfway down and the wonderful giftshops along the promenade. A must visit - especially if the sun is out.

I love Southwold, and the pier it fits in with the quality of the town, my only slight criticism is the modern amusement arcade at the front of it tatty. The rest is well built & in keeping with the surroundings

Old fashioned pier with little tat, excellent shops with good souvenirs. It is not very long and unlikely to get too windy.
