Such a great pier. Arcades ( vintage and new) , shops, food etc. lots to do!! We thoroughly enjoyed visiting even though it was a freezing windy day.

Its clean, well maintained and has quirky attractions - a real must to visit. This is the sort of place you visit and want to visit again and again.

We live near Southwold and visit every week, often having coffee in the Clockhouse Cafe or Boardwalk restaurant. Everything has changed for the worse over the last 18 months. Poor and sometimes surly service, long waiting times for orders, prices that seem to be going up almost weekly, dis-organisation, lack of heating, toilets out of use and everything looking tatty.... A really super pier with really good views of Southwold. On the pier is a fascinating & totally unique amusement centre, really well thought out, desingned & great fun. There are also nice shops with quality souvenirs & cafes. The pier is also free to go on.

Visited 2nd January and very surprised how many people were there, it was packed. The pier is lovely and just adds to the quaint charm of Southwold. Fish & chips were a disappointment mainly due to the long wait (8 pounds each for a small fish and chips made it pretty expensive for a family of 4) but the lack... More

I liked its originality: there was an unusual water clock about half-way along. I also liked the look of the shops and cafe that were on the pier.
