There is really nothing negative to say about the pier at Southwold. It has such lovely and unique designs strung throughout the entire pier from the local artist/engineer, Tim Hunkin, that did the Under the Pier show. Lovely view, lots of seating, and just enough "to-do". I highly recommend popping into the Under the Pier show, and having a browse... More

I'll keep this short and sweet as I don't know where to start with this beautiful place but here goes. We had the most perfect fish and chips at the bottom of the pier (perhaps pricey however, you pay for local, fresh produce and it's worth it) we took a nice leisurely stroll along the pier itself, enjoyed the breathtaking... We went to Southwold on a sunny June day for a few hours. The carpark is next to the Pier and it's a small place, so there isn't too much walking. The Pier is small but has nice gift shops selling expensive Southwold bits and pieces. Everywhere is expensive there but it is very "nice" as a result. My partner... More

This is so elegant both to look at from the shore and to walk along. It is so pretty and well-kept, and I love the grey and white simplicity as well as the witty clock.

My friends and I stop by this town on our way to Norwich. We stop the car next to the Southword beach and walk along the sea to the Southword pier. The pier has some shop and restaurant where you can take some rest after walk.

The pier has a great atmosphere, all the plaques lining the fence give it a great personal feel. Love the shops and the history of the pier. Arcades are limited to the entrance hall which is good if you've got kids. Well maintained.

Well, you have to walk down the pier at the seaside don't you? Especially when you can get a half decent meal, very good ice-cream, coffee,up-market gifts (lots of them), fun machines, a very clever and rather rude clock, a great view and lots of sea air. What's not to like?
