A very unique, traditional and quirky place to visit for an afternoon. A couple of lovely gift shops - one also sells delicious ice cream ! Two very nice places to eat - really recommend The Boardwalk. The Under the Pier machines are so funny - great for kids and big kids too. If you haven't seen it - watch... More

We've been going to Southwold pier for 20 odd years and it's always as great as I remember. There's loads of original things to see thanks to Tim Hunkin's influence. There's the water clock and the brilliant show under the pier arcade is highly memorable - we particularly enjoyed playing 'whack a banker'. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely, old-fashioned peer with plenty of places to sit and have a drink, a meal or just watch the world go by. Make sure you visit the clock at half past or on the hour. Worth the wait.

Southwold pier is very traditional, but is also clean and welcoming. The end of the pier show has the daftest games, whether walking the dog or being a fly being swatted after landing in the food etc - they really put a smile on your face and all ages seem to appreciate them. Good to look back to the town... More

Really oldfashioned seasdide town and the pier is great, just a really nice picturesque place. Fascinating reading all the plaques on the hand rails around the piers Had a lovely coffee and cheese scone. Well worth a visit

Clean and fresh and in reasonable condition considering the age of the pier. Food in the restaurant was very nice, with good service.

Last week I re-visited Southwold after 5yrs and was pleased to find most of the charm and attractions, although changed, were still attractive and in keeping with Southwold tradition. Mrs T's fish and chips on the harbour still worth a tasting and one of my personnel highlights. The low light and very disappointing was the pier. The layout has been... More

Really worth visiting especially on a rainy day. Unusual slot machines, quirky and fun for the kids.

This is a very peasant pier to have a stroll along and read some of the brass rememberance plaques. There is also a nice gift shop and a water clock, all worth having a look at. You also get a nice view of the beach.
