We were delighted to find a sunny day in December. It was late afternoon and the pier looked wonderful in afternoon sun.We have been to this pier many times and always enjoy our visit and this time was no different.

The pier is not that old but has been designed in 1920s style. The amusements are built by a local man and great fun - they look 50 years old but are no more than 28 years old. There is everything you would expect to find on a pier from the amusements to tea rooms. You can easily while away... More

Really enjoyed our visit to the Pier, once the arcade has been negotiated with minimal wastage of sterling you are treated to a nice old fashioned Pier that has refreshment stops and gift shops applenty, it also has the Under the Pier Show which is quirky and fun, one word of warning though it's not a big pier and can... We so enjoyed the walk along the pier, brisk wind and crashing waves, amazing. Stalwart fishermen and coins on the poles at the end of the pier! How did they do that? Lovely shops to pop into with a variety of goods. Very poignant plaques all around on the pier, clearly a place of nostalgia for many visitors. Well worth... More

This is a classic British pier - we visited last week and enjoyed a stroll along the boardwalk to the end of the pier which gives a good view back at the town and lighthouse. The pier also has some interesting attractions (particularly the 'Under The Pier Show'), a nice little shop and a restaurant. Altogether very peasant.

We sat outside the pier cafe and had excellent coffee with the sun on our faces and the high tide crashing against the shore! Who would think it was November 10th?!!

Enjoyed dinner here twice while we were in Southwold. Ate from the specials board which changes regularly. Friendly service and delicious food. The pounding of the waves on the pier supports adds an unusual touch!

A really good range of shops and cafes, does get very busy in the summer and some shops a little overpriced but good views from the end of the pier - look back at the beach huts and lighthouse.

We've visited a number of times for tea and cake and happened to see some people eating fish and chips and agreed to come back at some other time. We were not disappointed with the food. Staff were attentive and the space had a great ambiance with many families of all ages enjoying their times together.
