Landguard Visitor Centre is a good place to start. Large car park next to cafe and toilets. Big spaces at the back for motorhomes. Small pebble beach there and a great view of the port. Binoculars very handy to see the vessels, big and small slide by. A walk along he beach takes in old land defences and an old... More

A great place to visit for all ages and not just for boat or crane enthusiasts! It really is amazing to watch all the comings and goings of a busy Port. It is really interesting and full of great information. The introduction of the new cafe is fab and really makes for a great morning or afternoon out! You can... More

Well I visited the socks everyday I loved the walks from the caravan site and it was a joy to sit on the beach and watch the boats come and go and then walk along the beach going back to the caravan

We visited the port and saw a large container ship being loaded, a stenna car ferry leaving and a large barge arriving. Great views across the sea to Harwich. There is also a small passenger ferry to Harwich which goes on a regular basis. Nearby is the fort and a large cafe serving meals, drinks, teas etc which has a... More

Felixstowe is Britain's largest container port, a fascinating place to watch the world's ultra large vessels (up to 400m long) be guided in and out of their berths. The best vantage point for observations is Landguard Point where the Landguard Fort and newly relocated Felixstowe Museum are also on offer. Directly opposite the Port of Harwich and abutting a national... More

We were on a family special anniversary weekend revisiting old friends and places, and decided to go to to the port viewing area. Plenty of parking and great views on the sea/river. The scale of the port and the massive container ships is well worth exreiencing, You can take as long ( or little ) time to take in these... More

What a lovely place to visit. We really enjoyed it. Spent hours just sitting and watching the huge ships sail in and out of the port. Their is even a coffee shop for some light refreshments.
