Lovely walks amongst nature is just lovely at Pensthorpe. A chance to see the wildlife makes a very relaxing visit
Had a day trip to Pensthorpe in April to see the difference from a visit in high summer. It was very enjoyable again, but preferred the summer visit with the colour of the millennium garden, which was such a highlight. There are plenty of walks around the lakes, and plenty of secluded spots to just sit and enjoy the scenery... More
Lovely family day out, kids were given activities to keep them actively busy and adults were able to join in, the play area was a fabulous addition and lunch was delicious and reasonably priced. We will be back!
We have just returned from a lovely day out at Pensthorpe, and all 4 of us have had a great time. The kids (2 and 4) had a ball exploring the trails and getting close to lots of beautiful water birds. There are lovely little touches throughout - information boards, enticing side-trails, a spider-shaped climbing frame by the picnic area... More
I loved the free flight aviaries, great for photography, the beautiful gardens, the red squirrels, the fabulous geese and ducks, bird hides, woods and River Wensom. We also glimpsed shy roe deer and muncjac through the trees. Very good fish and chips. If I lived nearer I'd have a season ticket.
Well signposted from the main roads and with ample free parking, this place is very well adapted and very well organised to the needs of the paying customer. There are clean toilets, a well stocked gift shop and a restaurant. The restaurant caters for lunch and hot dinners. I would advise to use the place as a tea and cake... More
We had an excellent visit to Pensthorpe and were delighted to find how well they for mobility scooter users to get around the grounds and view all the wonderful waterfowl, red squirrels, etc that have their home there. We had a wonderful time - and the restaurant and shop are also very good indeed.
I wondered when I first read about Pensthorpe if it might be like a bird zoo, not a bit. It is a delightful combination of wildfowl, conservation and glorious gardens. This pleased both my husband and myself birds for him and gardens for me, and over the years the liking for both has rubbed of on each of us. It... More
Even though it's early season and a lack of visible wildlife it was a good day out. The discover tour wasn't suited to young kids (especially this early in the season) but the Wild Rootz is great for big and small kids. I was really disappointed by the attitude of one staff member while looking for a place to change... More
Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your day. It's lovely to hear you enjoyed WildRootz and the Wensum Discovery Tour has just kicked off for the season. I'm extremely sorry to hear about your experience with a member of our staff which dampened your day. Rest assured this will be looked in to. We... More
