Some great walks through the forest. Very tranquil and relaxing. Great to finish the day off with a snack in the cafe

Go here quite a few times for a walk. Parking either £1.50 per hr or £4 a day. Tracks easy to follow. Streams for kids to paddle in. Play n picnic areas. Nice cafe with lovely staff who make lovely honemade cakes. The only disappointment is there's not much wild life only see the odd bird and it doesn't matter... More

Probably the best Christmas trees in the world. For the fifth year in a row we have had the family trip to "hunt for our Christmas tree" , always a fantastic selection and the guys there are great, no matter how many trees you look at or how many times you go back to the first one !!

One of the best forest adventures we have been on. The gruffalo trail is perfect for children all ages and follows the book perfectly. For those who love biking it's a dream up and downhill trail for all advanced skills. Streams to play in, hills to climb it's a fab day out for all

While on holiday in nearby Wolsingham, we visited Hamsterley forest EVERY DAY. We simply couldn't stay away. It is breathtakingly beautiful at this time of year . We are looking to come back again to this area as we cannot bear the thought of not going to this forest again.

We visited midweek for a change so it was incredibly quiet and allowed us to appreciate the views so much more. Visitor buildings have all been updated and trail surfaces improved in places. New option to pay £1.50 for a short stay ( vs £4 for a full day) is welcome and will encourage us to visit more frequently

Spent a day here on the bikes this summer. with the new addition of some new MTB trails it ties the whole area together with some great new flowing trails. I will definitely be coming back.

We, a family with kids 9 and 6, went to the forest today with our mountain bikes to do the "blue cycle ride". Very easy to find the forest and we parked at the main car park. It was £4 for the day and the machine had the facility to pay by card. Nice toilets by the car park too.... More
