Fabulous place for families or mountain bikers. Took the kids on the Superworm trail, then coffee and cake in the cafe. Great day out.

We popped to hamsterley for a day out, picnic and possibly the trail. We bought the book and activity leaflet from the office. It was about the cost of the book. Didn't really use the leaflet as we were with two smallies (2 and 3). Enjoyed the trail. It was good searching for the next number and then reading the... More

I suppose that the only criticism that could be levelled at Hamsterley Forest is that it tries to be too many different things for different types of visitor. Even so, it manages to cater for disparate constituencies pretty well in my opinion. I am a middle aged (read elderly) mountain biker and the development of the trails over the last... More

Lovely afternoon with my young children who enjoyed finding the Gruffallo! Different walks varying in length and difficulty. Lovely shallow streams and children's play area. £4 to park all day. Great.

Lovely place for the kids to burn off some energy, there's a pay and display carpark next to the kids play park, nice shallow bit of the river the kids can paddle in. A new adventrue park with gruffalo trail. Lots of bike tracks if your into mountain biking. Some lovely long walks. A very nice place for a relaxing... More

we visited with our grandchildren aged 2 and 8, a lovely sunny day so they played in the shallow river, lots of walks, the ground suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, lots of signs to advise on the length of walks, lots of cycle paths, from easy to extreme, the information hut has maps and leaflets for walks and cycling, pony... The boys really enjoy coming here year after year and go for long cycle rides with Dad. We usually bring a picnic as there are plenty of tables, or use a blanket. They often go to the play area or go for a paddle . Good facilities

Although a bit showery (typical British weekend!) a lovely time had walking and cycling. We spent the day and were impressed with the amenities available.

Spent 4 hours at Hamsterley Forest. Haven't been for 20 years and some changes have been made since then. Great new cafe , reasonable prices and could sit inside or out. We had a dog so sat outside in the sun. New toilet facilities a short walk from the cafe. Very clean. Had time to inspect new wooden play area... More
