We booked the Polar Charter Whale Safari through the Tourist Office in Tromso, it was a small boat with our guide John, the skipper and six guests, no fancy gimmicks but well worth the trip to see whales so close to the boat and hardly out of Tromso! I was concerned as I am not usually good on boats, but... More

Even if it was super cold we could see Orcas and Humpback whales. Amazing experience. Amazing guides and staff. Totally Worth it.

We went on the 5hr whale watch trip with the skipper and Jon as our guide. There were only 7 of us so there was good chemistry. We were extraordinarily lucky to see 8/10 humpbacks some as close as 15/20 metres from the boat and this was fantastic and a very memorable sight, Thoroughly recommend Polar Charter. These people have... More

I've been on both the Pyramiden and Barentsburg trips on board the Polargirl. My most recent trip in Sept 2014 was to Pyramiden and without a doubt this trip is worth every penny. Just the experience on board the Polargirl alone is worth it. The sights you will see along the way are forever memorable, after all, you are at... More

We took the 12 hour cruise to the Russian coal mining town Pyrimiden. The boat was very comfortable although it was cold on deck in the wind. The inside cabin was warm and there was a bar for drinks. On the way back from Pyrimiden they served a hot lunch on the rear deck and stopped for people to take... More

The hotel was clean the rooms were clean comfy and could not expect more. All our activities were excellent and well laid out by spitsbergen travel.... More

Lovely cruise out to the Bore glacier on a clear sunny evening. We were picked up and dropped off at the reception. Dress warmly as it is cold being out at the deck. There were only 9 of us so ample space to move around, sit and enjoy the view of the surroundings. You are even welcomed to stand with... More

I had a couple of days up my sleeve in Longyearbyen, waiting for the Aurora Expedition's ship to Greenland and Iceland, so decided to take this one day cruise to the Esmarkbreen Glacier and the Russian mining town of Barentsburg. Helped by perfect weather, the scenery was stunning, and the voyage itself was thoroughly enjoyable. They fed us very well!... More
