This is not a huge place-just a small museum showcasing the history of the AirForce (Eastern Command); uniforms, medals, lots of photos; the few helicopters/planes/missile launchers outside on the grounds are great fun for children.

The place is on the way to Cherrapunji/Mawlynnong. Entry is free but ID needs to be submitted at the gate. Photography is prohibited inside the air force base but permitted inside the museum. The museum is clean and well maintained with a lot of models of missiles and guns. there are a lot of informative photographs too but the place... More

A place will inspire patriotism within us when we see the pictures and badges of the Indian Air force as well as the equipment used in Air Force. A Must Visit Place for all.

The first time I was visiting an airforce museum. It was informative and the various things that were displayed showed us the life in the air force.

I had very high expectations when i visited this museum alongwith my kids. But was hugely disappointing. The whole place is just a collection of pictures and few replicas of missiles. There is no literature along with the exhibits. I had a tough time explaining stuff to my kids. There is a video presentation area. But the computer was shut... More

The museum is located within the airforce base in shillong. The entry is free but you have to leave some ID at the entrance. The aircraft on display are all models. There are a few real engines being displayed. The staff were rude, said my ID is fake. The only reply i could give was, "Sorry guys, it might seem... More

The museum is very nice for adults and children alike. Very neat and well maintained. Gives a good idea about the aircrafts to children.
